30MinsorLess Jesse Azziz8 3 11 30 Minutes or Less: Movie Review

This week in theaters, actor Jesse Eisenberg reunites with Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer in one of the most easy-to-watch, entertaining comedies of the summer, 30 Minutes or Less. From its stellar comedic cast to it’s fast-paced storyline that never leaves you hanging, I found this to be one of the most straight-forward movies that delivers what we all want when we go to see a comedy, lots of laughs in 83 minutes, no more no less…

2406 D017 00032R Tower Heist Trailer Looks Like a Con Job

The Heist movie genre is filled with a number of great films, and usually a solid premise. Enacting a plan and following through – regardless of the unforseen complications – is inherently gripping, whether it’s perpetrated by heroes or anti-heroes. But Ben Stiller, Matthew Broderick, Michael Pena, Casey Affleck, Gabourey Sidibe and Eddie Murphy in the Tower Heist looks like heroes, and Alan Alda looks a fairly repellent bad guy with a big safe. Well, the real bad guy may be director Brett Ratner if he blows a great cast and what appears to be the best material he’s worked with. Take a look at the trailer…

Everything must Go 4 1 11DH Will Farrell Lives in a Yard Sale in Everything Must Go Trailer

The velvet paintings of clowns crying tell us that all funny people have a sad man inside. So does Smokey Robinson, and so does Marc Maron in his bi-weekly podcast. It’s then no surprise that Will Ferrell will take a serious role now and again, and Everything Must Go, directed by Dan Rush, promises melancholy and some laughs. The trailer also promises Rebecca Hall, Laura Dern, Michael Peña, and Stephen Root in this Raymond Carver-derived narrative. Check it out…

battle la3 10 11d Battle: Los Angeles Movie Review

It’s time. Time for high body counts, mass hysteria, alien invaders, explosions, tanks, helos (I learned that’s what the Marine’s call a chopper!), machine guns and a hell of a lot one liners like “we’ve already had breakfast”! Hell yeah! Battle: Los Angeles hits theaters this weekend with a whole lot of blood-shed! This movie is basically a video game on the big screen. For those of you looking for a good popcorn flick with plenty of solid action, this film delivers. On the other hand if you’re looking for a solid story, you might be better off with Jane Eyre or last week’s The Adjustment Bureau. Let me explain…

One of the films promoted at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con was the action flick, Battle: Los Angeles. Prior to the panel, not much was known about the feature besides who starred in it and who directed it. They showed some footage to the attending audience that confirmed that it was an alien invasion flick that centered on a government cover up (no surprise there). Today the first trailer for Battle: Los Angeles has premiered conveniently on the day that Skyline hits theaters. Coincidence? We think not! Take a look…

jesse eisenberg 26 5 10 kc Jesse Eisenberg Reunites with Ruben Fleischer for 30 Minutes or Less

It’s time for a Zombieland reunion but without Woody Harrelson or Emma Stone, you’ll have to wait for the sequel to get that. We’re talking about director Ruben Fleischer once again teaming up with Jesse Eisenberg for a new comedy called 30 Minutes or Less. The cast of the film already includes Danny McBride and Aziz Ansari so Eisenberg’s addition is literally icing on the cake or in this case extra cheese on the pizza.
