The film is a look into Moore’s tour of college campuses during the fall of 2004, where he went to 62 cities across America to encourage young people to vote for then Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry. Though the footage was originally shown at the Toronto International Film Festival and titled “Captain Mike Across America,” Moore wanted to add more footage to give the film “more heft and substance,” he said in a phone interview to the New York Times.
