Another huge purchase has been made at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and it’s for Lisa Cholodenko’s The Kids Are All Right. The film puts a new twist on the concept of family reunions with the help of an amazing cast including Academy Award nominees Annette Benning and Julianne Moore.
The generous people over at Disney have released some concept art designs and a short Mad Hatter clip from the Tim Burton adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice In Wonderland. The film stars frequent collaborators Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter as The Mad Hatter and The Red Queen, and newcomer Mia Wasikowska as Alice. Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds) and Mia Wasikowska are reportedly in talks to join the cast of the Cary Fukunaga adaptation of Charlotte Bronte’s novel, Jane Eyre. The film originally had Ellen Page as the female lead Jane, but she dropped out so Mia will take her place.
Alice in Wonderland star Mia Wasikowska is taking the leap from one highly visual director to another. According to THR, the young actress is in talks to star in Gus Van Sant‘s next film, Restless. It will be a dark coming of age drama, that will once again have Wasikowska front and center as the lead.
Today at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, Disney Studios is hosting the D23 Exposition event. It’s taking place right across the street from Disneyland, and will be the place to hear all the latest news on the studio’s upcoming film roster. One of the features that will be discussed at the event is Tim Burton‘s Alice in Wonderland. They’ve set up an oversized display featuring various characters and props from the film.

In the words of anyone eager to see Tim Burton‘s highly-anticipated Alice In Wonderland, “This is so exciting!” The film doesn’t hit theaters until March of 2010, but we already showed you pictures of The Queen of Hearts (Helena Bonham Carter), The White Queen (Anne Hathaway) and the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp), courtesy of USAToday this morning. Now Slamfish has posted some promo photos of Matt Lucas as both Tweedledee and Tweedledum, and Mia Wasikowska as Alice.

I never thought I’d say this but I found some nice photos and concept art from Tim Burton’s latest film via a Disney magazine. In the March 10th issue of the quarterly publication Disney Twenty-Three!, there is an editorial on Burton written by Mark Salisbury (editor of the book Burton on Burton). The article gives a nice synopsis of the Gothic director’s career, and is accompanied by some never before seen images from his upcoming Alice in Wonderland. The photos include a nice shot of actress Mia Wasikowska (Alice) as she stares down the infamous rabbit hole (above).
