In an attempt to show how edgy and hip the Academy Awards can really be, the Academy decided to hire the clever folks at Funny or Die to make a trailer for the 84th Academy Awards ceremony. And, despite being jam-packed with cameos by celebrities no one will really care about (host Billy Crystal, Robin Williams, Josh Duhamel, Megan Fox, William Fichtner, and Vinnie Jones) and loaded with horridly unfunny jokes (young people text a lot! HA!), the trailer–gosh, get this!–lands flat on its face.

Though surely men have described Megan Fox as heavenly before, it seems that the film Passion Play is making that literal. In the trailer for her new film, Fox has wings and everything. She’s joined by Mickey Rourke, Bill Murray and Rhys Ifans, and was directed by Mitch Glazer. The film opens May 6, and hits DVD on May 31. Megan Fox seemed to be teetering on the edge of fame for a couple months. After Fox was let go from Transformers 3 it was hard to know if the actress’s career could recover. Sure, she could model, but who was going to take her seriously as an actress? Now word comes from The Hollywood Reporter that one of those people is Judd Apatow. Fox is now in negotiations to star in Apatow’s next film, which will star Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann.

The opening weekend of Josh Brolin and Megan Fox’s new flick Jonah Hex didn’t fair too well. It came in at number 8 with a little over $5 million at the box office, which we predicted would happen with our Top Ten Worst Movies of Summer 2010 post. Now that it’s come and gone, it’s time for the stars to start looking for new material. Fox has already shown interest in another comic character who she’d love to bring to the big screen. Her name’s Sarah Rainmaker and she’s one of the superheroes in the Gen 13 comic book.
