ferris VOTD: Matthew Broderick Returns As Ferris Bueller

A Ferris Bueller’s Day Off sequel—it’s something fans both deeply long for and are terrified might actually happen.  While it would be great to see Ferris again, it’s also likely that a full-length sequel would in no way live up to the excellence of the original.  So how to get around such a quandary?  Simply hire Todd Phillips, director and writer of The Hangover, nab Ferris actor Matthew Broderick, and make a video teasing Ferris’ return.

And then make it a freaking Honda commercial.

2406 D017 00032R Tower Heist Trailer Looks Like a Con Job

The Heist movie genre is filled with a number of great films, and usually a solid premise. Enacting a plan and following through – regardless of the unforseen complications – is inherently gripping, whether it’s perpetrated by heroes or anti-heroes. But Ben Stiller, Matthew Broderick, Michael Pena, Casey Affleck, Gabourey Sidibe and Eddie Murphy in the Tower Heist looks like heroes, and Alan Alda looks a fairly repellent bad guy with a big safe. moviereleaseskj10 01 08 Movie Releases: Daybreakers, Youth in Revolt, Leap Year...

This week in movies is a little bit on the weak side. The vampire flick starring Ethan Hawke, Daybreakers, hits theaters. The movie is about a society of vampires that farm humans for their blood, except something goes terribly wrong. The movie hasn’t gotten great reviews, but it might fit under the category of “watchable.” The loveably-awkward Michael Cera’s new movie, Youth in Revolt, about a nerdy guy who is trying to get the hot girl to like him. It should be wildly cliched, completely-predictable, and enjoyable. Then we have the romantic comedy, starring Amy Adams, Leap Year. Tim Allen and Mathew Broderick both have limited release movies coming out this week with Crazy on the Outside and Wonderful World, respectively.

Check out the movies coming out on January 8, 2010… Continue Reading
