Do NOT be deceived by this box office hungry trailer: Jonah Hill will perform sans Judd Appatow flare and John C. Riley offers more than half-nude tomfoolery. That being said, Fox Searchlight Pictures presents Cyrus written and directed by the Duplass brothers. Hill, Riley, and the always fabulous Marissa Tomei comprise the quirky trio that will leave you both slightly charmed and slightly confused.

The multi-talented Duplass Brothers are embarking on their latest film journey, which will be a stoner comedy starring Jason Segel and Ed Helms. Both actors have a knack for delivering a funny line or two, and they know a little something about “acting” like their under the influence. The film is entitled, Jeff Who Lives at Home and it’s currently set for production over at Paramount.
Actor, writer, and director Mark Duplass, a star amongst indie filmmakers for his work in Baghead, Puffy Chair and of course Humpday, a film that took a typical bro-mance to the extreme, sat down with ScreecCrave for a moment to chat with us about his latest film at Sundance. At this year’s festival he and his brother Jay got back behind the camera and returned to their comedic roots with their first rom-com ever, Cyrus, only this time they got a couple of A-list celebs to lend them a hand.
Recently, I had the chance to interview Mark Duplass and Joshua Leonard, the two stars from Lynn Shelton‘s film, Humpday. Humpday is a film about two guys that decide to make a guy porn together, except neither one is gay. It is all for the sake of “art”. Mark Duplass plays the character of Ben, a family man with the house, wife, and the boring job. Joshua Leonard plays the character of Andrew, the “artistic”, gypsy-type who travels all around the world and leads a directionless life. It was pretty interesting listening to the two of them for a few reasons. First off, they shed a lot of insight into their characters from the film, and because they were just entertaining.
Reading this interview before you see the movie might be slightly enlightening for a few reasons because they talk about the film! More than that, they talk about how they came up with their characters and how they, basically, were improvising throughout the entire film. On a side note: they have pretty awesome porn names as well.

Humpday is the most recent film by writer/director, Lynn Shelton, starring Mark Duplass and Joshua Leonard. Although they advertise this movie like a slapstick comedy about two straight guys who make a porn together and then deal with the aftermath, the film is nothing like that. This film is far more intelligent than what you would expect from a l bro-ish comedy about two male friends who come up with the wacky idea of having sex for a porn convention to show how masculine they are. IN the end, it was an intelligent film about two guys discovering who they really are.
