On Revenge, Emily is closer than she's ever been to taking down The Graysons. “Surrender” outlines the 48 hours before the wedding of the century, but not without a few surprises. Although things don’t quite go as planned for Emily, we're left feeling a little bored.
Revenge deals in secrets so it’s no wonder they excelled at putting them on display. “Secrecy” brought two surprise guests to the Hamptons, but they weren’t the only ones coming out of the woodwork. More than one hidden truth came to light. With the wedding creeping ever closer things are starting to get good.
Revenge is supposed to be sweet, so why is there a sour taste in our mouths? “Resurgence” gave us a takedown, but not without a bit of a letdown. Even with a stunning revelation about Emily, things felt extremely unfinished.
Revenge is best served cold, but hardly without assistance. “Dissolution” showed the ruin between not only Conrad and Victoria but Emily and her allies. The men of Emily’s secret life can hardly be controlled. Perhaps it’s possible they’re best left to their own devices?
The perfect Revenge is carefully thought out with a great measure of “Control.” Last night’s episode dealt with the main ingredient to any good plan. Will Emily’s power over her allies match her enemies control over theirs?
Without the Graysons there would be no Revenge, but just how long will fans wait for their destruction? “Mercy” toyed with that query in more ways than one. While two former novices immerse themselves in all things deceptive, others get the better of our main avenger. Will Emily ever best her betters?
On Revenge every party has its pooper. “Confession” put more than one secret out in the open. Emily’s comes out on top, but not without losing more than she planned.
Revenge is a cornerstone of dramatic potential, yet sometimes the payoff seems so far away. “Sin” introduced a new element to Emily’s quest: regret. Our heroine’s judgment is called into question, along with a couple of incomplete story developments. Still, through the muck a small star shines. Perhaps it's finally time for both Clarke girls to avenge their father?
Revenge has returned, and oh what a bleak summer it’s been. The best dressed cast on TV is back to spice up the airwaves. “Fear” shines a light on the terrors ahead for Emily in the present and very near future. As usual, the season begins with a cliffhanger, but this one might mean the end for our favorite heroine.
Last night's two part finale of Revenge delivered in every way possible. "Truth" splashed secrets across the small screen, with every character implicated in one way or another. Though it was a tumultuous success, was it enough to satiate us after an uneven season?
As the end of the season draws near, Revenge makes its final stand. "Engagement" has Emily slip Daniel's ring back on her finger, and with it, all the complications you could imagine. As she climbs back in bed with the family that ruined hers, someone from her past puts themselves on the line.
Revenge returned with some classic humiliation. "Identity" had Emily struggling with her next step, Nolan attempting to unmask a nemesis and Victoria trying to keep her hidden kin a secret. Though we enjoyed seeing some past behaviors revisited, old problems are getting on our nerves.
Sunday's Revenge jumped six weeks ahead, to the Graysons' annual Halloween celebration. "Masquerade" ignited Emily's newest plan for Victoria, with immediate results. Although Aiden and Nolan made stunning accomplishments their futures are looking bleak.
Last night's Revenge was an all around success. "Victory" was a win for both the good and bad guys. But a huge get for one party means a major loss for Nolan. For Daniel, the person succeeding isn't who he thinks as Emily earns the best prize of them all.
On Revenge they’re playing with a loaded deck. “Illumination” features the arrival of Emily’s foster brother, who fits right in with the dwellers of Grayson Manor. Although one of the Porters is improving in our eyes, the other is woefully forgotten.
On Revenge when it comes to trouble the Graysons are always at the root of it. “Retribution” focused on the fallout from the tragedy on The Amanda. The episode’s director Helen Hunt perfected the night by drawing out powerful performances from actors who usually go unnoticed.
Last night's Revenge was the episode we've all been waiting for. "Sacrifice" reveals who met their end on The Amanda. After waiting all season, did it live up to our expectations?
For Revenge, murder is just a warm-up. “Union” saw all the characters join forces, with some partnerships more doomed than others. While the episode wasn’t a bore, it wasn't enough to distract us from the weekly waiting game.
What happens when a dangerous organization takes over nearly every scene of Revenge? You get "Collusion," an episode full of The Initiative and little else. Though the show's primary focus has shifted to its darkest villain, that didn't leave it without some loose ends to tie up.
Revenge takes another step towards justice. With it, they brought the sensational return of the heroine we’ve been desperately awaiting. “Sabotage” dealt with the plans made by many, and the vicious attempts to undermine those efforts. That’s the kind of deception you don’t want to miss.
