Hmmm, decisions, decisions. This week is filled with a comedy for everyone; there is the stupid-funny, the romantic-funny, the indie-funny, and then another stupid-funny that is a little more kid-friendly. The adult comedy, The Hangover, is probably your best pick for stupid-funny. The movie is about a group of guys who go to Vegas for a bachelor party, the next morning one of them is missing and they don’t remember a thing from the night before. The indie-comedy, Away We Go, by director, Sam Mendes, is a great choice if you’re looking for something that will make you laugh and cry. Then there is the romantic comedy by My Big Fat Greek Wedding’s, Nia Vardalos, with My Life in Ruins, which will be cheesy (consider yourself warned). And finally, the outrageous Will Ferrell kid-friendly, comedy Land of the Lost, which is currently receiving mixed reviews, as Ferrell comedies normally do.

It seems like things will be looking more or less the same this weekend in the box office. There is a chance that Pixar’s Up might be holding unto the number one spot for a second a week. Assuming that’s true, this weekend The Hangover and Land of the Lost are going to be battling it out at the box office to be second best. Who will take home the silver medal?

Recently we sat down with Danny McBride to talk to him about his role as red-neck, casino entrepreneur, Will Stanton in Will Ferrell’s comedy, The Land of the Lost. It’s not much a surprise that the real life McBride is not unlike the character’s you’ve seen him play on screen, only with a very quick wit that shows how he could go toe to toe with someone like Ferrell.

Will Ferrell is a surprisingly laid back and straightforward person to talk to. Unlike most comedians who always seem “on” during an interview, Ferrell felt no need to joke around or entertain with his answers. He was quite comfortable in being straight forward and honest. Although some of his answers were humorous they were not because of him trying to do so. Overall he had a very genuine attitude that showed how different is from any of the characters he portrays. Who would have thought he was that good of an actor?
Opening this Friday, June 5th, is Will Ferrell’s new comedy, The Land of the Lost. The film stars Danny McBride as Will Stanton, the lovely Anna Friel as Holly Cantrell, Jorma Taccone as Chaka, and Ferrell as Dr. Rick Marshall.

MTV has just posted a new clip of the film Land of the Lost starring Will Ferrell, Anna Friel and Danny McBride.
We all know that this film is going to be cheesy, but I didn’t realize exactly how far they were going to go with “cheese” factor until this clip. It feels like an SNL clip, but with a big budget. I was hoping for a little bit more for some reason.

I’m not sure how I feel about this trailer. The thing that I liked about the teaser trailer and the Superbowl trailer, was that they were a little off-beat and odd. It didn’t look like just any comedy, but a chance for Will Ferrell to shine with his own brand of humor (like in Anchorman!). This trailer, feels more like they’re trying to appeal to the young-teen/mainstream market. It reveals too many scenes, has too many sub-par jokes and overall seems a little dull to me.
If you’re excited for the film, I would suggest skipping this trailer and just pretending like it didn’t happen. There will be others, don’t worry!

Let the promotions begin! Here is a longer, more fleshed out version of Will Ferrel’s upcoming comedy Land of the Lost. If there is one thing that we know about Will Ferrel Movies, it’s that they like to promote them. A lot!
I think this looks like it could be a fun ride. Especially with Danny R. McBride as a member of the supporting cast.
