Mark Millar, the author of the Kick-Ass comic book series recently spoke a little bit about Matthew Vaughn‘s upcoming release and some of the changes that had to be made so that the original series would work on the big screen. Kick-Ass wants you to be their fan on FaceBook. As much as I hate having to become a fan or add my name to anything in order to get something, it’s a pretty small price to pay in order to have access to new clips, live interviews with the director and more… And I have to say, this film is completely worth it (check out our ShoWest First Look).

We have one of the latest clips for you of Kick-Ass riding around in The Red Mist’s cleverly named “Mist-Mobile” with all the finest crime stopping toys that a rich superhero could buy. The two “super-heroes” played by Aaron Johnson and Christopher Mintz-Plasse have two very different ideas about what it takes to be a superhero, but both of them are equals when it comes to horrible dancing. Check it out…

…it kicks ass. Much like the title of this film, Kick-Ass is very straight forward. It has one idea, one concept and it follows through 100% with what it promises to do. There’s no debate over the rating, no lines that they’re afraid to cross, it’s just a simple comic-book story about a guy who is anything but your typical hero. The fight scenes are extremely well done, every actor in it was extremely well cast, and although the dialogue is ridiculous at times, it was surprisingly realistic.

It’s here. The 2010 SXSW Film Festival has finally begun and it’s opened with a bang. Last night marked the world premiere of Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass, the R-rated comic book movie that went from being the little engine that could to the talk of the town. The film centers on a group of unlikely heroes led by an awkward teenager who dresses up, fights crime, and takes down the bad guys. They can’t fly, they can’t see through walls, and they’re not invisible, but one thing is for sure…they can kick your ass.

Check out some early reactions to the very first screening of the film…
