Earlier today we gave you our first impression of Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass after it was screened at this year’s ShoWest, now a new theatrical trailer has been conveniently released by Lionsgate. The video is short and sweet running just 10 seconds over the 1 minute mark. It focuses more on why these “heroes” do what they do, and dare I say tries to give the film an emotional edge? …it kicks ass. Much like the title of this film, Kick-Ass is very straight forward. It has one idea, one concept and it follows through 100% with what it promises to do. There’s no debate over the rating, no lines that they’re afraid to cross, it’s just a simple comic-book story about a guy who is anything but your typical hero. The fight scenes are extremely well done, every actor in it was extremely well cast, and although the dialogue is ridiculous at times, it was surprisingly realistic.
It’s here. The 2010 SXSW Film Festival has finally begun and it’s opened with a bang. Last night marked the world premiere of Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass, the R-rated comic book movie that went from being the little engine that could to the talk of the town. The film centers on a group of unlikely heroes led by an awkward teenager who dresses up, fights crime, and takes down the bad guys. They can’t fly, they can’t see through walls, and they’re not invisible, but one thing is for sure…they can kick your ass.

Another vintage poster has been released for Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass. The first one featured the title character as played by Aaron Johnson, and the latest features Chloe Moretz as the small but deadly, Hit Girl. This poster has to be my favorite because just like the previous one, it takes a note from the war time posters of the 1940’s, and this one’s meant to inspire the ladies.
The SXSW Festival is almost here and the final preparations are being made for one of its biggest debuts, Kick-Ass. The Matthew Vaughn feature will premiere on opening day and over at MTV, they’ve unveiled a new promotional poster for the movie and announced the latest actors who’ll be attending the film’s panel.
Kick-Ass will be in theaters next month and the marketing onslaught is still going strong. A new red band trailer has been released for Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass. Similar to the previous restricted trailer there’s a lot more violence and bad language present than what’s shown in the green band versions. Just yesterday we brought you the latest international character poster for Kick-Ass that featured Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl. Today, a new behind the scenes video has popped up online promoting the film and it shows several interviews from the stars including Moretz, Aaron Johnson, Mark Strong, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and director Matthew Vaughn. It’s an on set video that was taken during Kick-Ass’ production and it features some strong language, so beware.
