Kevin James just doesn’t do it for me in the comedy department, but for some odd reason he keeps landing high profile roles. In his latest coup, he’s managed to get a spot in an untitled Ron Howard directed film co-starring Vince Vaughn. That’s a lot of talent and experience for one movie and James has just signed on to get his piece of the comedic pie.

The international trailer for the upcoming ensemble comedy Grown Ups has been released, and it’s slightly better than the domestic version. The film’s main characters are mostly played by “Saturday Night Live” alumni, with the exception of Kevin James. A teaser trailer has finally been released for the ensemble comedy Grown Ups, which mostly features Saturday Night Live alumni except for one. And we’re not referring to the Will Ferrell era of SNL, we’re talking the bad boy years that featured Adam Sandler, David Spade, Chris Rock, and Rob Schneider. All of them will be on the big screen together along with Paul Blart Mall Cop, Kevin James.

Oh no Kevin James is making another comedy, and I use the word comedy loosely. According to RopeofSilicon, James will star in a new film entitled, The Zookeeper. After the unexplained success of Paul Blart: Mall Cop, the actor will star in his latest project alongside Rosario Dawson and Leslie Bibb. The premise for it is pretty ridiculous, but I would expect nothing more from the guy.

There are many unanswered questions in the universe. Why am I here? Does God exist? What makes me happy? I have a question, How did Paul Blart: Mall Cop make so much money? It was such a bad movie! It wasn’t even funny. Unfortunately, I was forced to see the movie. It’s a long story involving foreigners, language barriers, and nothing else to see. Perhaps, it made money because of reasons similar to mine?
The plot of the movie could have been pretty funny. It’s so easy to make fun of the mall cops; they are the stereotypical rejects from the police academy. They always wanted to be a cop, but just didn’t make the cut. Then add in the subplot with the awkward, fat guy on a quest to win over the hot girl. All of this together could have been really entertaining, but it really fell short. It’s disappointing that such a bad movie did that well. But, Seth Rogen is coming back, with Observe and Report, as an answer to the failed mall cop movie. Hopefully, it does as well, if not better, than its disappointing predecessor.

Last month we reported on an untitled SNL infused comedy that features a who’s who of comedic actors. As of today that roster just got a whole lot prettier. According to Variety, Academy Award nominated actress Salma Hayek has signed on to co-star in the film. Hayek will join Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, Kevin James and Rob Schneider in the feature that will be directed by Dennis Dugan. As if there wasn’t already enough comedic talent in this film, two more Saturday Night Live veterans have joined the cast as well.
