The hit musical Rock of Ages took many of the kitschy but lovably sincere rock anthems of the 1980′s and Broadway-ized them. So who better to head up the film adaptation than Adam Shankman, who gave Hairspray a similar stage-to-screen treatment? The film – which stars Julianne Hough, Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand and Malin Ackerman – hits theaters June 1, 2012, but now there’s a trailer. Though the title suggests a stoner comedy along the lines of The Pineapple Express, Your Highness is more of a goof on the fantasy and Sword and Sorcery movies that took over cinema in the early 1980′s, films that ranged from the studio financed Conan the Barbarian and Clash of the Titans, to the Italian and American rip-offs like Yor, the Hunter from the Future and Barbarian Queen. If you’ve got a soft spot for The Beastmaster, but also recognie that it’s kinda goofy, this movie is for you. Otherwise…

Justin Theroux first got attention when he was one of the characters in David Lynch’s Mullholand Dr. But though he worked successfully since then, his collaboration on the script for Tropic Thunder brought him new life as a screenwriter (he got sole credit on Iron Man 2). Not long ago we attended the press conference for Iron Man 2, which was basically Robert Downey Jr.‘s chance to show off a unique hybrid between himself and Tony Stark. Not only did he dominate the stage, the questions, and everyone elses answers, but at one point he literally “held” the press conference together – but more on that below. In attendance along with Downey was the director Jon Favreau, writer Justin Theroux, producer Kevin Peige and cast members Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke, and Don Cheadle (sadly no Sam Rockwell who absolutely rocked the film).
