The cult Spanish language horror film, The Orphanage is getting an American makeover. The original 2007 film was directed by Guillermo del Toro protege Juan Antonio Bayona. According to THR, actor-director-producer Larry Fessenden has been hired to helm the English language adaptation of the film.
Now that all the hoopla surrounding who will helm the third film in the Twilight franchise is over, directors can breath a sigh of relief. Juan Antonio Bayona was mentioned as a possible candidate for the job, but has since moved on to bigger and better things. According to /Film Bayona will re-team with former collaborator, screenwriter Sergio Sanchez for his latest project.
The fight to direct the second Twilight sequel, Eclipse is causing quite a stir in Hollywood. Seriously, everyone and their mom, dad, and dog are throwing their hat into the ring for this one. According to THR, Guillermo Del Toro ‘s protege Juan Antonio Bayona has made the short list of potential directors to helm the film. This would be a perfect fit for the upcoming director who comes from the horror based camp of Del Toro.
