Over the past couple months everyone’s been wondering who will be the new Spider-Man, the hero that was previously played by Tobey Maguire in the Sam Raimi trilogy. After their 3 picture run, Sony decided to reboot the franchise with a new director and a new star. They’re looking for someone younger who can take us back to Peter Parker’s youthful roots. A shortlist of actors were mentioned as possible candidates for the role, one of them being Josh Hutcherson who Blue Sky Disney claims has been offered the part.

The casting for the remake of 1984′s Red Dawn has expanded significantly! As we previously reported, Chris Hemsworth, Adrianne Palicki, and Josh Peck signed on to star in the film, and now they will be joined by four more young actors. Connor Cruise, the son of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman has been cast along with Josh Hutcherson, Isabel Lucas (Transformers Revenge of the Fallen), and Edwin Hodge.

- Frank Langella (pictured above) is back! The Oscar nominated actor is in talks to play Lewis Zabel, an old-time broker who mentors Shia LaBeouf‘s character, a young Wall Street broker in Oliver Stone‘s Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. (Variety)

It’s time for a film that no one has heard of! Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant, (yes I know, another vampire film) which is kind of like a horror film for kids, starring John C. Reilly, Ken Watanabe, Josh Hutcherson, Chris Massoglia,Willem Dafoe and Salma Hayek, and directed by Paul Weitz.
I have no idea what to say about this movie. I want to hate it and yet I find the trailer amusing (damn you John C. Reilly for being so good in everything).

It’s one thing to remake Batman, Iron Man, or something of that nature, but Journey to the Center of the Earth? I thought this movie bombed. In fact in my mind, it had! I was so sure of it that I actually went to check the numbers to prove to you that this movie had no right to have a sequel. I mean how could a movie that bad, make that much money (please don’t mention Paul Blart).
The numbers did not exactly support my opinion. It cost $60 million to make and made $240,648,578 worldwide. Well. That’s it. We can’t even have the quality argument with numbers like that. There will be a sequel. I will make a lot of money. It won’t be good. But will it have Brendan Fraser the one thing that made it almost bearable?
