When Journey to the Center of the Earth came out in 2008, it didn’t attract much attention, but ended up doing steady business, eventually making over $100 Million at the box office and even more internationally. In the race for the next big franchise, Lionsgate is now casting up their film series based on Suzanne Collins’ worldwide best seller The Hunger Games. Joining previously announced Jennifer Lawrence are now Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth for the Gary Ross-directed big screen version, which is set to open March 23, 2012. Lionsgate is obviously hoping they have the next Twilight-ish success with this franchise.

The casting for the remake of 1984′s Red Dawn has expanded significantly! As we previously reported, Chris Hemsworth, Adrianne Palicki, and Josh Peck signed on to star in the film, and now they will be joined by four more young actors. Connor Cruise, the son of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman has been cast along with Josh Hutcherson, Isabel Lucas (Transformers Revenge of the Fallen), and Edwin Hodge.
