Paramount Pictures have released a video of G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra director Stephen Sommers in Paris discussing his upcoming film. The featurette shows the director talking about one of the pivotal action sequences of the movie (the accelerator suit chase scene), which has been getting a lot of buzz around the internet. In the chase, Duke (Channing Tatum) and Ripcord (Marlon Wayans) get dressed in these automated suits that allow them to run faster, jump higher and even withstand being hit by a car, or three.
Four lucky winners will get one 500 Days of Summer poster along with the film’s soundtrack album. The film features music from artists’ such as Regina Spektor, The Smiths, and Black Lips.

This week Marc Webb’s uncategorizable film,500 Days of Summerwill be hitting theaters this week and we were lucky enough to sit down to a one on one with one of the two stars of the film Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The man is sweet, charming, and quite possibly one of the most under rated actors of our time — although not for long.
There is no doubt that the indie film 500 Days of Summer is about to become one of the buzzed about, must see films of the year. But that’s not where Levitt stops, he also plays the villain in the summer blockbuster G.I. Joe, is shooting Hesher across Natalie Portman, and was cast in Christopher Nolan’s super secret project Inception. Needless to say, we’re about to be seeing a lot of this guy, but before then let him carry you away with his amazing performance in 500 Days of Summer.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt got to play DJ on KCRW’s Guest DJ Project, which allows different cultural trendsetters and icons to share five songs that have inspired them throughout life on a weekly basis.
Levitt chose to include songs that have helped him prep for character roles in films, two of which are hitting theaters this summer– 500 Days of Summer and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. To prep for his role as Tom in Marc Webb’s upcoming rom-com, Levitt decided to fall in love with his actual love in the film– Zooey Deschanel.
Levitt mentions that he would play Deschanel’s collaboration with M.Ward as She & Him to prep as her suitor, and that his track of choice was Sweet Darlin‘:
Ready to see Zooey Deschanel as Sid Vicious and Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a blonde wig as Nancy? Mean Magazine has created a new series of online short films called CineMash, which allows actors to remake their favorite scenes from classic movies.
First up is the starring couple from Marc Webb’s 500 Days of Summer(opening July 17), Deschanel and Levitt, who decided to remake the classic film Sid and Nancy.
So that was that. There are more mini-scenes to come, take a look at the schedule of episodes below….
Now this is a trailer. The original500 Days of Summer trailer was beautiful, but it completely lost me due to it’s over-used voice-over, but this trailer shows a lot of potential. The films stars the lovely Zooey Deschanel and the adorable Joseph Gordon-Levitt, in a love story about about the difficulties of falling in love. It’s definitely a refreshing twist on the old romance cliche.

The 2009 Sundance Film Festival closed Saturday night with an awards show hosted by Spring Breakdown’s Jane Lynch. Joseph Gordon-Levitt from 500 Days of Summer announced the U.S. Audience Award while la MISSION’s Benjamin Bratt announced the World Cinema Audience Awards.
Director Geoffrey Gilmore closed the festival with the following words, ”This has been a truly remarkable year for Sundance in ways even we did not fully predict. We opened the Festival with animation and closed with science fiction, and in between showcased some of the best films we’ve ever seen. People ask us how independent film has evolved over the past 25 years and the answer is, quite simply, it’s better.”
Wow! Where did this movie come from? Diane Lane, Mickey Rourke, Thomas Jane, Rosario Dawson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt star in a film about a hitman you never want to see, because once you do, it’s all over. Rourke goes back to playing one of his more usual rolls as a badass assassin, Diane Lane looks phenomenal as always, and I was happy to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt appearing in something where he actually gets to act. He’s such a good and yet under-used actor.
