Joel Mchale Reviews, Interviews & More
Community's season finale tried to recreate a time gone by. With Jeff on the verge of graduating, the writers decided to bring back the darkest timeline, but their hearts just weren't in it. Don't get us wrong, "Advanced Introduction To Finality" had its moments, but compared to previous finales, it doesn't make the cut.
Community's "Intro To Felt Surrogacy" can be summed up in two words: too cute. This episode was, more or less, an homage to The Muppet Show. There was singing, a balloon adventure, a Jason Alexander cameo and psychotropic berries.
Last night's Community was devoted to a disease called Changnesia, which is exactly what it sounds like. As you may have gathered from previous episodes, Chang's returned to Greendale as an amnesiac. In "Advanced Documentary Filmmaking," Abed puts on his filmmaker hat and documents the different reactions the study group has to this sketchy illness.
Thanksgiving comes with a lot of strings attached. Sure there's tons of delicious food, but you have to put up crazy family members, innapropriate jokes and awkward reunions. That was the case on last night's Community. "Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations" focused on the difficult task of drunk uncles and estranged fathers.
Community, there might be hope for you yet. Last night's "Alternative History of the German Invasion" gave us the wit and humor of the Dan Harmon-era. The Germans from "Foosball and Nocturnal Vigilantism" return to torment the study group to teach us a lesson on who's really the bad guys of the show.
Once again, Community took place outside of Greendale. There was no Dean Pelton, and no Leonard. Instead, we got some guest appearances by Matt Lucas and Tricia Helfer, who played fans of Inspector Spacetime. In "Conventions of Space and Time," Lucas and Helfer meet members of the study group during a less-than-great sci-fi event.
On last night's Community, the gang celebrated Halloween. Yeah, we know it's February. But this is what happens when a network pushes its premiere from October to the month of love. In "Paranormal Parentage," the group pays a visit to Pierce's mansion, and gets the bejesus scared out of them.
There are few things we find absolute joy in – puppies, Nutella and Community. Last year, our favorite comedy was treated like a cheap hooker. It was absolute madness, but we made it. It's back on TV, and despite new showrunners, the show's still refreshing. In "History 101" the study group returned to Greendale as Dean Pelton put on a Hunger...
Finally! After a long wait, Community returns to television this Thursday February 7 after the show's gone through a traumatic year. What drama you ask? Well, season four got a reduced order of thirteen episodes (fans have been worried the show would be cancelled since the first season), series creator Dan Harmon was fired, Chevy Chase left the show before they could...
Tonight would have been the season 4 premiere of Community, until NBC decided a couple days ago to hold the show, perhaps hoping to use it to replace a new show that could be cancelled shortly. That's what happened with Animal Practice and Whitney, as Practice was cancelled and...
This week, Joel McHale turned himself into an android. The Soup host spoofed the Prometheus viral ad in which Michael Fassbender's android David is introduced. Joel's android is somewhat of an alcoholic though. We've also got a new hobby for you guys – it consists of paper dolls and the new hit show Girls. All that...
One thing became very clear last night – Troy and Abed are back to being TV's most dynamic duo. Cheers! Community returned to normalcy this week. The whole gang gathered around the study table where Pierce whined about never having a best friend in the group, and Britta shared another unsuccessful relationship story. Let's go over 'Origins of Vampire Mythology'....
Community, the critically loved but ratings-deficient show, was taken off NBC's schedule after its Christmas episode with no return date in sight. It was unknown if the show would even come back, but it's returning March 15 to finish out its season. Perhaps these next ten episodes will be the end, something cast members have speculated on in interviews. But to buzz up...
At the end of the new Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World trailer, it says the film will be in 4-D. What does this mean for audiences? Often considered spacetime by nerds, it can also be odors in the theatrical business. Does that mean we will be able to smell Jessica Alba and Joel McHale's cooking, or Jeremy Piven's bad guy cologne? Likely it's just a marketing...
Pierce's love life has rarely been explored on "Community," apart from some passing references to previous marriages; for a while it seemed like they were trying to set him and Shirley up but, well, that pairing has undergone a slight change (or should we say "Chang"e? No, no we should not.) However, this episode of "Community" is going where no man - and 7 women - have gone before, and...
It's Abed's birthday and (as you may have guessed) there's a film theme in this week's episode - namely, a Pulp Fiction-esque party. There's only one snag: Abed appears to have given up his former trivial pursuits altogether. Read on to find out the details!
As you might recall, the small issue of who Shirley's baby's father is - and who's going to be raising the kid, for that matter - is still very much on the table. Well, this episode is raking those problems back up and, since it involves Chang, the rake is made out of pure, unfiltered crazy. In this week's installment you'll find pipe-smokers, kidnappers, and war criminals; some of them...
Earlier this week we had a chance to sit down with this years host of the Film Independent Spirit Awards, Joel McHale, who you should know as Jeff on one of the best shows currently being made "Community" or possibly "Talk Soup." Sitting down with McHale it's obvious that he's both extremely witty and though he never laughs himself, is constantly using his dry...
It's election day at Greendale, and things are going predictably haywire: Friends are stabbing each other in the back to get ahead in the polls, the media coverage is silly and unhelpful, and the secret service is just about everywhere. So pretty much like a regular election, then. Read on to find out the details:
The mockumentary is not a format that gets a lot of love, with the notable exceptions of This is Spinal Tap and a certain pair of office-based TV shows. To redress this cosmic imbalance, Abed has decided to (once again) pick up his camera, this time to document Pierce's terminal illness; however, it soon becomes obvious that things are not as they initially seem. Read on to find...
