We’re on to JJ Abrams’ latest scheme! There’s a lot of mystery surrounding his top secret sci-fi project Super 8 and yesterday a casting call was sent out from his studio (Paramount) for a new film, which they refuse to name. What’s up with that? It’s been duly noted that Super 8 is supposed to be a throw back to Steven Spielberg’s (who’s a producer on the movie) old school sci-fi films from the 80′s. That means we’ll probably have a young, oddball protagonist taking on adult responsibilities all while gaining a deep-rooted sense of self. This casting call seems to fit that bill…

Now that production on “Lost” has wrapped TV and film producer JJ Abrams can fit another show into his busy schedule. According to THR, his latest project entitled “Undercovers” has been picked up by NBC and is slated to debut this fall. The pilot will mark the first episode that Abrams’ has directed since “Lost’s” 2004 premiere.

Yesterday, we posted some Star Trek sequel news from director JJ Abrams, but what about his other long awaited follow up? It’s confirmed that Mission Impossible 4 has been green lit for production and will reunite Abrams with Tom Cruise for another no nonsense action fest. Over at Sci-Fi Wire, Abrams gave a little update on the status of MI:4, and spoke on whether or not he plans on directing the film.
