JJ Abrams has already made his mark on the legendary Star Trek franchise, and now he has his eye on another iconic series, Superman. We all know that over the past few years, the Man of Steel has been treated like the red headed step-child at Warner Bros, and to many of his fans that’s unfortunate. Abrams recently spoke up about his interest in making a film featuring the hero, and how he already has a script in place.

After the success of this summer’s Star Trek reboot, director J.J. Abrams has been busy creating a detailed story for the follow up. With the sequel being confirmed, there are several things that the director along with the rest of the cast and crew have to live up to. The first film was liked by the majority of fans and critics, but still had a few kinks to work out. Abrams is well aware of those problems and plans on fixing them the second time around.

Mission Impossible 4 has been gaining production momentum over these past few months, with no signs of slowing down. According to Variety, a set of new writers have been hired to pen the script for the third sequel in the franchise. Star Trek was so successful and well-received, that there has to be a sequel in development. I am surprised there hasn’t been an announcement already, as it seems pretty common to announce a sequel or spin off immediately after the movie hits theaters. Now it appears that there is, in fact, a sequel in the early development stage. Recently, J.J. Abrams discussed the possibility of doing a sequel, he stated, “I love the characters and we were so lucky to get the cast we got so I just feel like – I feel too lucky to be a part of this thing to say goodbye to it.” The plot to the new film has not been decided on, they are currently developing the script.
So, a sequel for Star Trek definitely sounds promising; J.J. Abrams is willing to do the project, and I’m sure the cast is down with the idea. J.J. Abrams would be the dumbest man alive if he didn’t make another Star Trek movie. It would be silly to walk away from a franchise that is so popular. I am curious to see how they develop the story, and if they are going to do something new and different for the sequel.
There is a video interview Collider did with J.J. Abrams. Check out the video below…

Bad idea! Apparently rumors are being spread that Tom Cruise wants JJ Abrams back for Mission Impossible 4. Really? Cruise wants one of the most raved about and top grossing directors of the year to put him in him a film, who would have thought?
A while ago we heard Tom Cruise on a Japanese television talking about MI4 and saying that he was “working on the story right now” and has been “thinking about how to stage a big action sequence in downtown Tokyo.”
Now TV Guide tells us that Abrams said:

After two solid weekends at the box office and MANY great reviews, everyone is asking J.J. Abrams, if there will be another Star Trek film or films? From the way that the Director has been talking, it sounds like there might be! The next question is, how will they make that work? Will we be moving through time so that Shatner can make an appearance? Will Abrams be taking on Khan as a villain?
Well, JJ Abrams sat down with MTV and here is what he told them…
