I’m not just referring to all the remakes, but the constant need to make every film PG-13 just so they can cash in on the disposable income of teenagers! Hong Kong legend Chow Yun-Fat is taking a step outside of his comfort zone to star in a role that will focus on his acting instead of his acrobatics. According to Screen Daily, Yun-Fat has been confirmed to star in the biopic of Chinese philosopher Confucius. The drama will be co-produced by the Beijing based company Dadi Century Film and China Film Group Corporation. The actor will be joined by Chen Daoming as Lao Zi, another Chinese philosopher and the founder of Taoism.

As I’m sure you already know, the Sylvester Stallone action flick The Expendables has become my own personal obsession. The film has an unbelievable cast, attached to a badass eighties action story. With Stallone, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Randy Couture, and Dolph Lundgren signed on to star, I had one major question, where’s Jean Claude Van Damme? “Just when I think I’m out, they pull me back in!” That’s what I screamed to the heaven’s when I came across some more Sylvester Stallone, Expendables news. I am convinced that the “Italian Stallion” is putting together the biggest homage to the eighties action genre that we’ve ever seen. With a cast that boasts of Academy Award and Golden Globe winners, Forest Whitaker, Ben Kingsley, and Mickey Rourke, plus action icons Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Randy Couture, and Jason Statham, it looks as if The Expendables is going to be epic.

That’s right. You’ve got three genres of action all coming together in The Expendables. The film will star all three action heroes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and Jet Li in a film written and soon to be directed by Stallone.
Stallone said about the film: “Making films with Nu Image/Millennium gives me as the director the opportunity to make the films I envision,” Stallone said. “I am happy to be partnering with them again and am looking forward to working with Jason and Jet.”
