It would be interesting if Woody Allen‘s To Rome With Love was his capper to a foreign city trilogy. He recently made Vicky Christina Barcelona, and last year’s Midnight in Paris, so why not? Rome stars Allen, Alec Baldwin, Penelope Cruz, Judy Davis, Jesse Eisenberg, Greta Gerwig and Ellen Page, along with Oscar winner Roberto Benigni. The film opens June 22, and here’s the film’s trailer.

Some of this looks familiar, as Cruz is playing the daffy hooker that’s been in a number of Allen’s works (most notably in Mighty Aphrodite, which won an Oscar for Mira Sorvino). That’s always been the problem with late-stage Allen: He’s a big recycler. But what’s great is the return of Judy Davis to Allen’s films, and Roberto Benigni. The latter got a bad rap after his Oscar win, but Life is Beautiful is a great movie that holds up, and Benigni is a comic master (if you doubt that, watch him in Jim Jarmusch’s Night on Earth or Down by Law).

Allen uses Baldwin very well in the trailer, and this looks funny, but many of Allen’s later comedies have felt antiquated and not all that hilarious. This is a peppy, energetic trailer, and after the commercial and critical success of Midnight in Paris, it’s good to have Woody slightly more in the spotlight. He’s got a great ensemble here, so let’s just hope it’s better than You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger or Whatever Works.

What’s your favorite Woody Allen of the last ten years?

Most actors have a skeleton in their closet that their ashamed of. For some that may be a crime, others their sexual preference, but for most the problem with being a working actor is that sometimes you take things to work. Especially before you get Oscar nominated. and so Jesse Eisenberg is suing Lionsgate for releasing Camp Hell (a film in which he has a small role) as a film starring him.

To be fair, Eisenberg’s case makes sense. Often later DVD artwork will play up actors who became famous later on as a selling point, and may slightly misrepresent the movie by focusing on the “and” over the real stars. But here they’re suggesting Eisenberg is the lead, and was likely paid little money for the work. If they’re going to make him the star, why not get a star’s paycheck?

This doesn’t look like it’s the sort of film that’s damaging to his career if people watch it – in some ways Eisenberg’s lawsuit is better for the consumer than just his ego. And it doesn’t look like this way long delayed – likely it was something Eisenberg filmed around or before Zombieland.

But it is funny how many stars appeared in crap that didn’t do anything for them before they got noticed. Entertainment Weekly just ran a cover story about those embarrassments, and it’s a tradition long standing in Hollywood. Clint Eastwood got his start in films like Tarantula and Revenge of the Creature, George Clooney went from TV show to TV show while also doing films like Return of the Killer Tomatoes! And on and on.

What’s the most embarassing early screen role you can think of?

This week in theaters, actor Jesse Eisenberg reunites with Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer in one of the most easy-to-watch, entertaining comedies of the summer, 30 Minutes or Less. From its stellar comedic cast to it’s fast-paced storyline that never leaves you hanging, I found this to be one of the most straight-forward movies that delivers what we all want when we go to see a comedy, lots of laughs in 83 minutes, no more no less…

The Players:

Directed by: Ruben Fleischer (1-1 Interview | On Set Interview)

Screenplay: Michael Diliberti

Story By: Michael Diliberti & Matthew Sullivan

Actors: Jesse Eisenberg (1-1 Interview | On Set Interview), Danny McBride, Aziz Ansari, Nick Swardson, Dilshad Vadsaria, Michael Peña

The Plot:

Two fledgling criminals kidnap a pizza delivery guy, strap a bomb to his chest, and inform him that he has mere hours to rob a bank or else…

The Good:

Run Time: I for one am sick and tired of sitting in a cinema being bored while filmmakers think that longer run-times give the audience a better experience. They don’t! Especially not in a comedy. In a comedy audiences want to get in, laugh, eat popcorn, be distracted from all the horrible shit in life and then go home with a grin on their face and that’s exactly what this film does. The plot itself gives the film a sense of urgency and the film follows suit. This is definitely not a film you’ll be noticing your ass going numb in.

Jesse: He’s firmly established himself as one of the best, straight-faced comedians currently working. His performance is as quick-witted as the film is fast-paced and his serious nature helps add to the severity of the situation making it all the more intense and hysterical.

The Comedic Team: Danny McBride, Nick Swardson, Aziz Ansari and the unexpected Michael Peña all provided a much need comedy backing of all different kinds for the film. All four actors brought their own style to the table and had their own moments to shine. Michael Peña had a smaller role, but one that was absolutely hysterical and was the one person who really stood out of the pack.

Embracing its “R”: This is an “R” rated film and there’s really no questioning it. They embraced their “R” rating and really had fun with it. It’s nice to see a comedy so obviously directed at adult audiences and not be filled with “poo” jokes.

The So-So:

Depth: The film did not have a lot of depth to it. Maybe because of it’s pacing, nothing ever got to deep nor never felt too important. I for one enjoyed the simplicity of the film and saw the movie for what it was, but I don’t know if this will be a film that people will remember a decade from now.

Overall:

This is not a film that breaks any new grounds, but it does its job very well and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a bit of fun, escapism.

Rating: 7.8/10

30 Minutes or Less in theaters August 12th.

This week in theaters, Jesse Eisenberg, one of the most serious actor working in comedies, impresses audience once again with his keen wit and layered performance, as he reunites with director Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) once again in the fast-paced, easy to watch comedy 30 Minutes or Less. A short while ago we published our interview with him from the set of the film, now that he’s had some distance, an Oscar nod, and some time to reflect, find out what he loves about comedy, how he stays true to his indie roots, and how appreciative he is of everything that he’s worked for…

Two parts I didn’t get, they are in bold. One’s at 5:15. The other at 9:23.

This movie rides on the fact that you believe that you might die at any minute. Why is it important for you to believe that? Why is it important to play serious in a comedy?

Jesse Eisenberg: You just described exactly how I felt of my job. If I take my character’s fright seriously, the movie will end up being funnier because it won’t just be a wacky sketch about a guy with a crazy thing around his body but it will be a story that moves from point to point and progresses and ultimately has a resolution. All that stuff is important for a full story. But I’m not aware of that. I’m aware of playing my role realistically which the only way I know how to do it, I wouldn’t know the sillier version of my character would be. I don’t know how to think of my character’s fright and act in a way that would be more broad comedically, I’m so fortunate to have been asked to be in this movie. I know it’s funny and fast paced and has a unique plot and the attitude to play my role realistically. Often times actors, good actors, trained actors, are asked to compromise what to do, in order to stir a story that’s silly. I wasn’t asked to do that in this movie.

Is that part of working with Ruben and why you think you would keep working with him in the future because he gives you that freedom and challenges you that way?

JE: Yeah that’s exactly right. We did a movie two years ago, Zombieland and it was the same thing. The script was similar to this in that it was framed as a comedy, the characters were funny, but I auditioned for the movie a few times and I just played it dramatically like somebody who was experiencing this real feelings even in the context. I was frankly a bit surprised that they selected me. For this, I auditioned a few times and I played it honestly and surprised again when they hired me. Ruben is such a great director. He’s able to make the movie really funny and fast paced and visually interesting without ever compromising what the actors like to do and that’s rarer in a movie like this.

Are you always surprised when you’re hired or is it in the comedy roles that you’re not expecting?

JE: I’m frequently surprised because the experience an actor has in a role is often not in accordance with the way it’s perceived by an audience. In this movie my character is a much dramatic situation of his life. He’s questioning his own mortality every minute. These are things that would be high stakes in a dramatic movie. The movie plays comedically, so my personal experience with it is not reflected in the final product in the same way I felt it. That’s why I don’t really watch the movies I’ve been in because it’s never reflective on the experience I had.

Did you ever expect coming up that you would be known for being in these comedy films and having that edge as a comedian?

JE: Well my job doesn’t really change. I’m not acting in a different way that I would act in another kind of movie, and the other part of it is, a lot of the dramas that I read don’t feature characters that are as interesting as this one. In this movie the character I play, he thinks of himself as a rogue ascetic but actually he’s just a guy with no friends. He has this delusion of grandeur of being somebody who’s the traditional norm by not getting the job and by not having health care and by smoking weed and doing all this stuff that is actually an embarrassed reaction to not being responsible. That’s an interesting character and I get to do that. And it’s in a movie that’s really funny. Whereas I read these independent dramas that should feature characters above all else because that’s all they have going for them because there are no car chases and they have just cliched independent drama characters. I think a good character will transcend any genre or budget level.

I imagine with The Social Network has opened a lot of doors for you. How do you pick your roles now? Is it an interesting character? Or working with directors? Or what really drives you to make the choices that you make at this point in your career?

JE: Only if I can have an emotional experience that will be satisfying to me, that’s the only thing I consider. I have no idea what directors do technically so to me it doesn’t make a difference who is there. My only interest if the experience will give me an emotional catharsis that will remain interesting over the course of the two months it’s filming. I just finished doing a movie last week and it was a million dollar movie, and it was the only movie I’ve been flagged down to do in the last two years that I remained hung to to because it gave me an emotional experience that was good for me to have. It sounds like so pretentious but the truth is, I could do my job better if I’m in that circumstance.

And what is that film called?

JE: That’s call Predisposed. It’s a mother-son story and it was cathartic in a good way and the more indulgent I’m allowed to be, the better I’ll do.

Is that just once of those films that personally spoke to you and that’s why you personally remained attached to it?

JE: Yeah. I don’t know that it will come out at all in time or ever, but you do it for personal reasons that’s the difference between treating the profession like a job and treating it like I’m some kind of craft or some kind of creative expression.

So now you’re faced with having to make these professional decisions but still look after your craft?

JE: Yeah. The other side of it is that it was able to get mad because I was in things that were popular so you have to be a little bit savvy and not to precious about it because the only way those things can get done, that somebody with two million dollars would give that to make that kind of movie, it only happens because the people in it have been in things that teenagers go to.

Do you feel that you career choices have been influenced by people around you? Or has it been luck, talent, how do you get to where you get at this stage of the game?

JE: I just want to do what I like and then the rest that I would say is luck or the people around you because I didn’t do any kind of better acting job in The Social Network than in any other film but I’m surrounded by a director who’s a masterful director. Same thing with 30 Minutes or Less, the director is really creative at what he’s doing. It brings that attention to me that is not necessarily earned in terms of the amount of effort that I put into it.

What is the thing that you find more at ease when you’re making a film?

JE: The thing I crave most is everyone taking it seriously. Even in a movie like this that is supposed to play comedically, all the actors take it very seriously. The end result is funny, but actually everyone is working hard to make sure that happens. Occasionally, the misconception with a movie like this or with other movies that are kind of pop-y movies is that “it was just a blast to shoot.” Obviously I’m using that kind of sarcastically. But anything that shows up as really fun or as fast-paced or casual, probably takes a lot of work. It’s the stuff that is boring to watch that was easier to do. So you want to be ed people who are taking it as seriously as you want to take it.

What is it about film-making that you can’t live without? What is that keeps you coming back and keeps that love going?

JE: For me, I have a lot of misplaced anxiety and acting can provide a very healthy and creative way to express personal anxieties. This movie that I just finished, I was on set crying every day and emoting in this extreme way, and at the end of the day you feel just weight-lifted you just feel that kind of catharsis. It’s in a kind of safe, prescribed environment.

Check out Jesse Eisenberg in 30 Minutes or Less which hits theaters August 12th.

If you’re going to end on a high, it’s good to have one as good as the punchline to “you just brought a gun to a bomb show.” The latest trailer for 30 Minutes or Less - which stars Jesse Eisenberg, Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride and Nick Swarsdon – is red banded, so the jokes are filthier and also hilarious. The film opens August 12, and the new trailer is their best ad yet. Check it out…

Comedy is a tricky beast, and it’s exciting to see what director Ruben Fleischer has in store. He’s got a confident touch behind the camera, so it’s going to have the slick polish that is often lacking in modern comedy. There’s also a strong plot, with an obvious deadline involved, so the film – if it works – should move.

We did a set visit where we talked to the director and stars Dilshad Vadsaria and Ansari, Eisenberg, and McBride and Swarsdon if you’re curious for more. With this and a number of the more recent August trailers, it’s looking like this could be a very strong end for summer movies. That is, if these films deliver. And after the start of this summer, it’d be nice to see some films that are original, or at least deliver on the promise of the material.

Does this give away too much?

Comedy is a serious business. The one thing that you think about when you hear about a Ruben Fleischer film with a pair of half-assed robbers being played by Danny McBride and Nick Swardson dressed in monkey suits kidnapping a pizza boy is serious acting… but that’s where Jesse Eisenberg comes in and takes a silly skit to a quality comedy. Though 30 Minutes of Less is funny and while on our tour of the set the scenes that they shot in-front of us where rather comically off-beat and quirky, the one person taking it all very seriously was Eisenberg, and that’s because as everyone else gets to run around and play it’s his honesty and believability that keeps us invested in the story.

Let’s take a little peak at a day on set with Eisenberg…

We just saw you do the same scene, take after take, how is it for you as an actor maintaining that sort of energy level to do that scene again and again and again?

Jesse Eisenberg: Sometimes it’s easier that others. Don’t drink coffee in the morning ’cause then you’ll have like peeks of energy. I try to main like a low level exhaustion all day.

While some people joked around on set, Eisenberg continued to stay on point and rightly so. At the start of each take he had to be at his breaking point, ready scream, cry, and basically be at the height of his emotions. He continued to prep himself before each run through as he took every single shot seriously, though he was no diva and didn’t have any problems reapplying his own duct tape to his mouth before each take.

How hard is it to balance the stakes? Like the criminal stuff and also reacting in a way that should be presumably funny as it is believable.

JE: I guess the more serious you play something, if the context is funny then it will be funny and it doesn’t really require you to be necessarily, explicitly humorous or silly. There are some scenes in this movie, because of the grave situation are naturally that much more funny. For example the last several days we’ve been filming this back robbery where Aziz Ansari and I have to rob a bank and everything that can go wrong in the bank does go wrong. It’s because the two of us are so panicked and freaked out and taking it so seriously that it’s really funny.

What did it mean to you to have Danny McBride and Aziz Ansari be your comedic counterparts?

JE: I was really excited that they were doing the movie because I’ve loved them but for me it doesn’t change what my character should be doing. We’re all playing three different roles and my character is comparatively the straight man, not that I think of it this way, but compared to them, objectively speaking would be the straighter character. Because they’re so funny it gives me more room to play it straight because they can compensate and make the scenes funny and the pressure is not necessarily on me ’cause I don’t think it should be. My character is going through a very real thing.

Despite the obviously emotionally strenuous job at repeatedly being strapped to a bomb and shot at, Eisenberg would regularly stop by and answer questions from the onlooking press whenever he had a moment. Eisenberg is clearly not a “precious” actor and one who has worked his way up and is still working. Though everyone on set seemed to be there to try protect the actors, Eisenberg, though shy in his own way, was extremely warm and open to us being there and really seemed excited to be on set, to be acting and to be able to share his experience with us.

There’s a great line about knowing that you’re going to be executed in the morning really concentrates the mind, is that a part of your characters ark with death strapped to him in an explosive vest? Does that make him aware of things he should be doing differently in life?

JE: Yeah, the emotional center of the movie is this character who has never done anything in his life. He has a line, I’ve never even quite a job just waited around to get fired. He’s in love with this girl who’s his best friend’s sister. He’s never told her. He’s just kinda ridden through life lazily. This metaphorically lights a fire underneath him to take a stand and spend these ten hours doing everything he should have been doing the last several years ago.

What is it about Ruben’s roles that appeal to you so much?

JE: I was surprised when we were doing the Zombieland that Ruben Fleischer is as, that he accounts for the emotional inner life, as pretentious as this may sound, but this is the actor’s job so this is what I think about it all the time is that he accounts for the actor’s inner emotional through line and inner life in a real way. When I read the script of that movie I didn’t necessarily think that it would earn that kind of attention. So with this, I was much more excited to go into this knowing that the director is someone who is doing a comedy that is occasionally broad and also visually arresting, but also that he will pay attention and account for the actors process and emotional experience.

Though the serious/funny is what Eisenberg seems to be becoming known for, he see’s this role as much more than that. Reaching out to an audience and hopefully giving them a chance to both laugh and be touched is a dream come true for Eisenberg…

I read some of the early drafts of this script and your character is more of a self-assure wise-ass than, where you looking for a change?

JE: I really love the character. When I read it, it seemed like a real person. It seemed like somebody, who me, is the movie so to speak though the change and that kind of all seemed realistic. In that way it felt similar. That’s what I look for when I’m looking to act in something. Something realistic, an emotional journey and this character had that in spades.

Has it been more intense running from hordes of zombies or having this bomb strapped to your chest?

JE: This movie is more, at least for my character, was more serious in tone. Zombieland was a little more fun, at least for my character. This one if, at least for me, has to be played pretty much straight. This one is a little more exhausting because there’s no room for me because it’s set in the real world. There’s less room for me to have — there’s no winking to the audience, with this one.

He even went as far as to get a bit method with the role…

What kind of research you did to get into the working world of a professional delivery driver?

JE: Well the pizza place where we’re filming the movie, they let me go out with this guy Alex, who they thought most similar to my character. I was surprised to realize how similar he was. He was as sarcastic and self-aware as the character is. It was a perfect match for my character, also for the kinda basic logistics of how it is to deliver pizzas and who the costumers are. These guys who kidnap me in gorilla masks are surprisingly not far off some of the people we met that evening.

What do you find is more challenging to play?

JE: When you take on a role you try to do as much as possible before hand to get your mind into it, just to prepare because it’s a daunting prospect to go six months or whatever, this is three months to do something. With the [The Social Network] there’s video to watch of the character I played and there’s audio and there’s images. And this one, there’s a pizza guy who can take me around. Ideas as equivalent preparation experiences.

Was the pizza guy a local?

JE: Yeah, I did the Hollywood pizza place. No (laughs) the place where we’re filming here in Grand Rapids, the pizza guy took me around, names Alex, really cool.

Were you anonymous? Did you get recognized?

JE: Yeah somebody gave us a $5 ’cause they liked Adventureland.

Though the The Social Network has come and gone and though Eisenberg will always be striving for character driven roles, it’s clear that his days of comedy with Ruben are far from over. He’s worked with him once before, one again and as long as the roles keep suiting him and he can find something he can make work, he’ll keep crying to keep us laughing…

Where you apprehensive about working with Ruben at all?

JE: Yeah of course not, it’s the opposite. He did such an amazing job with that Zombieland. Of course, I would love to work with him forever.

Was it a nice transition going into this film and working with Ruben again?

JE: From (Zombieland) it almost feels like a continuation because it’s the same crew and working with Ruben is so wonderful and feels like an extension of the same process.

During the middle of the interview, Eisenberg had to run off and do a few more takes, but as soon as they cut he came back over and finished, making sure to answer everyones questions before taking a much needed lunch break with the rest of the crew (and even us peons press attendees). He’s not one of the most outwardly vivacious actors, but he has a subtle charm and an awkward charisma that makes him a pleasure to talk to. And watching him work on set it was obvious, he’s an actor in love with acting and that for him, comedy is a serious business that he not only loves, but knows how to do damn well.

When he’s not busy declaring that he’s retiring, that he’s quitting 30 Rock, and that 30 Rock itself is going off the air before not retiring, not quitting 30 Rock, and 30 Rock staying on the air, Alec Baldwin still takes time off from his busy schedule to act here and there. His newest project? Woody Allen’s new film.

/Film has it that Baldwin has signed on to Allen’s next film, which is as-yet untitled. Little is known about the project, beyond the fact that it will be set in Rome. Baldwin and Allen last worked together in the 1990 film Alice, which was a loose reimagining of Federico Fellini’s 1965 film, Juliet of the Spirits.

Rumor has it that The Social Network’s Jesse Eisenberg might be joining the cast, which makes sense—Eisenberg’s twitchy and nervous onscreen persona seems to perfectly align with the nervous and anxiety-ridden protagonists of Allen’s films, which are often stand-ins for Allen himself.

So there you go—based on this news, expect Alec Baldwin to declare that he will never, ever work with Woody Allen ever again, will never work on Woody Allen’s new film, and will never work with Jesse Eisenberg, ever.

What do you think of Alec Baldwin reteaming with Woody Allen?

An Oscar winner, Oscar nominee, and Emmy nominee will share the big screen in the upcoming film Predisposed. According to Vulture, Melissa Leo, Jesse Eisenberg, and Tracy Morgan are all attached to star in the indie comedy. This is truly an interesting cast and the trio’s characters are all connected by one common thread.

The site claims that Predisposed is “a macabre look at the unhealthy relationship between a drug-addicted mother (Leo) and her college-bound son (Eisenberg), set on the day of both his interview at Julliard and her planned arrival to rehab.” While Leo and Eisenberg play mother and son, Morgan is on board as Leo’s drug supplier code name: Sprinkles. Isn’t this an uplifting role for the actor (rolls eyes)?

The plot thickens when the son tries to get the mother into rehab but he can’t because she doesn’t have health insurance. The only way she can enter treatment is if she shows up at a facility intoxicated (is this true?). There’s also a drug war going on between Sprinkles and a yet to be cast rival dealer.

We love this cast. Let’s just put it out there. But how long will Eisenberg be able to play 18/19 year olds? The man (emphasis on man) is 27. Come on guys? Granted, he looks younger than what he is but we’re ready to see something different from him.

What do you think of the cast for Predisposed?

A new international trailer has been released for the animated, 3D feature Rio. The film stars Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg, who lends his voice to the lead character, an awkward tropical bird. At first glance Rio might seem like Madagscar meets Ice Age, but it has something fresh to offer. It’s funny, colorful, and set in Brazil! Check out the new trailer…

Rio centers on Blu, a rare macaw who thinks he is the last of his kind but he soon discovers there’s another macaw out there, a girl named Jewel. He leaves his cage in small town Minnesota and heads to Rio de Janeiro to start a life with her.
This movie actually looks hilarious. There will be a lot of competition in theaters during Rio’s opening weekend but we think its chances are good.

The film also features the voice talent of Anne Hathaway, Jemaine Clement, Tracy Morgan, Leslie Mann, Will.i.Am, Jamie Foxx and George Lopez.

It’s that time of the year again, Vanity Fair is about to release their annual Hollywood issue. We have to admit, this year’s stars are a lot more interesting and diverse than the group from 2010. It features everyone from Ryan Reynolds to Noomi Rapace. The majority of the three-tier cover models include young Hollywood favorites and one legend who managed to sneak in between the pages. Find out who below…

In order of appearance, the cover features: Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway, James Franco, Jennifer Lawrence, Anthony Mackie, Olivia Wilde, Jesse Eisenberg, Mila Kunis, Robert Duvall, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Andrew Garfield, Rashida Jones, Garrett Hedlund and Noomi Rapace.

Somehow they convinced the talented Robert Duvall to sit in the background while these young, whipper snappers grab all the attention. We’re not sure how that happened but it did. Another important question to ask is, where is Tom Hardy? What about Ryan Gosling? And why is Joseph Gordon Levitt just now making an appearance?

There are so many questions and not enough answers. Who do you think has been omitted from this prestigious group?

What do you think of the 2011 Hollywood Issue cover?

Last weekend, Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg hosted “Saturday Night Live,” and to the surprise of many, it was a funny episode! The Social Network star kicked off the show with a hilarious monologue that featured a special, special guest appearance by his alter-ego Mark Zuckerberg. As we all know, Zuckerberg wasn’t the biggest supporter of Eisenberg’s portrayal of him in the film, and when these two finally met face to face it was — awkward! Watch the meeting below…

First and foremost, we just want to acknowledge how great Eisenberg was last week. He was funny, energetic, and open to anything. Besides the monologue, other highlights included the “Mr. Wizard” and “Bride of Blackenstein” sketches, the latter of which featured musical guest Nicki Minaj in the title role.

As for the meeting between Eisenberg and Zuckerberg — strange! You have to give credit to both men for being able to make fun of a rather uncomfortable situation. And Zuckerberg may be great at computer programing, and he may be a billionaire, but acting is not is strong suit. Let’s leave that in Eisenberg’s hands for the foreseeable future.

What did you think of Zuckerberg’s appearance on Saturday Night Live? Did you enjoy the show?

It’s started. It hasn’t even been in theaters for a month and David Fincher‘s The Social Network is already receiving awards starting for its amazing performances. The Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Awards is honoring the cast of The Social Network with the Hollywood Ensemble Acting Award at the Hollywood Awards Gala on October 18, 2010.

The cast of The Social Network is very deserving of this award, from its leading man Jesse Eisenberg to Rooney Mara (who only appeared in the film for about 15-minutes) the whole cast nailed their performances. The festival will be giving individual awards to Eisenberg and Mara, as well the entire ensemble which includes Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Armie Hammer, Max Minghella, Josh Pence, Brenda Song, Rashida Jones and Douglas Urbanski.

Recently, the Hollywood Film Festival announced that they would also be giving away an award to Sean Penn for his his humanitarian work. The Oscar winner has worked on a number of causes including Haiti and Hurricane Katrina and Hollywood apparently wants to drink to his honor!

Now, the big question is, will Eisenberg get an Oscar nod? Or anyone else from the stellar cast of The Social Network that matter? We can only hope that they won’t just go for someone else because they’ve been around longer.

Though we don’t know what the future will bring, it’s great to see the cast being given accolades so early on.

Do you think they deserve to be winning awards already?
