We’re sure you’ve seen a few behind the scenes set photos from the upcoming comic adaptation, The Losers. A profile here, a back shot there, but have you seen the entire cast as a whole? Have you ever gotten the stare of death from Idris Elba, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, Columbus Short, and Oscar Jaenada? You’re in luck because we’ve got a photo showing them doing just that. On Elba’s official Twitter he posted a photo of himself and a few of his co-stars together while on location.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is starting to get drunk with comic book power. The actor already starred as The Comedian in this year’s Watchmen, he’s currently shooting a role in The Losers, and now he wants in on Guy Ritchie‘s Lobo? According to Superherohype, the actor is interested in playing the lead role in the recently announced Warner Bros production. Has he been bitten by the same bug as Ryan Reynolds? Stomp the Yard director Sylvain White has added actor Holt McCallany to his next project, The Losers, an adaptation of the Vertigo comic series. The “Losers” include Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Losers’ leader), Idris Elba (Roque), Chris Evans (Jensen), Jason Patric (Max – the good guy who goes bad), Óscar Jaenada (Cougar), Columbus Short (Pooch) and of course we need some estrogen in there so we have Zoe Saldana (Aisha).
As if the cast wasn’t enough, this isn’t your typical heroic film where the good guys go against the bad guys, but how the good guys can turn evil for the right reasons. The story goes that a Special Forces team from the CIA are betrayed by their handler Max (Patric), and left for dead following the conclusion of their operation. The Losers then plot for revenge against Max.
It’s unclear how McCallany turns into a bad-buy yet. Perhaps he ends up working for Patric? Who knows?

In February, we reported that Watchmen star Jeffrey Dean Morgan had signed on for a role in the comic book adaptation The Losers. Apparently, this film needed more fanboy material because they’ve tapped two more cult favorites to join the cast. According to LatinoReview, Zoe Saldana (above) and Idris Elba are in negotiations to co-star in the action film with Sylvain White directing.

Well, apparently the embargo on Watchmen reviews has been lifted. So! To answer the question I’ve been asked many times over, “how was Watchmen?” Here we go! There is no doubt about it, it’s epic. It is unlike any other comic book movie you’ve ever seen. And in honor of Zack Snyder, I’ve made this review R-rated. So deal with it. It’s more real, more gritty, and sorry Dark Knight fans, more dark than any comic book film we’ve ever seen before. In comparison, it makes TDK look clean and shiny. Now don’t get out your pitchforks just yet, it’s depth may also be it’s biggest problem. I’m not sure if the box office is ready for such a dark comic book film. But this is a solid film, not just a superhero flick. Recently we stated that we did not think that TDK was worthy of an Oscar nomination because although is was an amazing film it did not transcend it’s genre and The Watchmen does. There is far more emphasis on the characters, the background, the relationships than there are fight scenes (although don’t get me wrong there are plenty of explosions and special effects for you to enjoy). The Dark Knight, opened a door and now The Watchmen has stepped through it.
*** Some minor spoilers ahead for those of you who have NOT read the graphic novel***

Well, I can tell you all I’ve seen Watchmen, but that’s about all I can tell you (stupid embargo). Luckily I was able to sit down to a one on one with Jeffrey Dean Morgan who was able to spill a bit of dirt about the film. I was so excited to speak with Jeffrey because he plays one of films first truly evil superheroes ever, The Comedian, who is unlike any other superhero you’ve ever seen before. He’s dangerous, resentful, angry, and of course, smiling the whole way through. The casting in this movie was phenomenal. Jeffrey was literally the perfect man for the role in every way, shape, and sound.
When meeting him, he wasn’t quite the physical presence that he was on screen, he had lost the stash and smoking gun, but had gained a giant skull ring and a black button down shirt. It was so nice to talk to an actor who was happy to be promoting his film and yet not afraid to joke around and be open about how he felt. Although however charismatic and charming he was, he definitely has13 a voice and a way about him that showed he certainly has a powerful and edgy side to him – perfect for the role.
Check out what Jeffrey Dean Morgan had to say about shooting his role as the Comedian in Zack Snyder‘s upcoming film, The Watchmen out March 6th…

Somebodies been bit by the superhero bug, and his name is Jeffrey Dean Morgan. We’ll have an exclusive interview up on him in the next few days for his role as The Comedian in next month’s graphic novel feature, Watchmen, but he’s already moving on the the next film! Although not very far. It looks like he will be signing on for another comic book film. According to Variety, Morgan is in talks to star in the DC-Vertigo comic adaptation, The Losers.
The Losers are a special black-ops team whose members originated from several different branches of the military. In their own units, each one of them at some point or another lost a soldier under their command, hence they dubbed themselves “The Losers.”
