For years we’ve been hearing about a possible 3D conversion for James Cameron’s unprecedented drama, Titanic. The director even spoke about it a little bit at last year’s Comic-Con, and now we’re hearing that he’s finally set a release date. The use of 3D has become a major deal-breaker for most Hollywood films and thanks to Cameron’s own Avatar the trend is showing no signs of stopping. So when can we expect to see Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet on that ill-fated ship again?

On February 22nd, the National Resources Defense Council held a benefit event for the environment with a special focus on the environmental theme from James Cameron’s Avatar. KCRW’s Elvis Mitchell conducted an interview with Cameron about his recent blockbuster hit and how he’s using the film to help promote environmentalism (just in time for the Oscars of course).

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and Sacha Baron Cohen have agreed to disagree. Just a week ago, it was announced that the Borat and Bruno alter ego Baron Cohen was to present an Oscar and preform a skit during this Sunday’s live TV broadcast. But now, New York Magazine’s Vulture reports that one of the broadcast’s producers was scared Baron Cohen might offend the infamous Avatar director James Cameron with his skit.

With Baron Cohen’s last prank being that his bare buttocks fell straight into Eminem’s face at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, the Oscar producer might have been right on when he decided Baron Cohen’s skit might be too risky for an Oscar event.
