Today, we had the opportunity to sit down with the boys from Jackass 3D. If you were a fan of the TV show, or their previous movies, you’ll be happy to know that more outlandish stunts are on the way. The entire cast confirmed that due to the overflow of footage from this film, they have more than enough material for another movie.
Don’t you miss the days when you could turn on MTV and watch music videos followed by a half an hour of pure jackassery? About 10 years ago the cable network hit comedic gold when they began airing episodes of a little show called Jackass that featured several skaters and stunt men performaning dangerous acts all for the sake of a good laugh.
The series eventually went off the air but a theatrical series soon followed. The latest is entitled Jackass 3D (yes, the trend got them too) and it’s the third (and final?) installment of the trilogy. During Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards the cast of Jackass 3D took the stage to introduce the category for Best Rock Video, which was awarded to Jared Leto’s band 30 Seconds to Mars. A week ago, speculation surfaced regarding cult favorite Jackass and the recent horror comedy, Zombieland. The big news was that sequels were on the horizon and both would be shot in 3-D. According to Variety, the films have been confirmed and production is scheduled to begin fairly soon.
Paramount Pictures must be on a mission to take us back to the good old days of MTV. According to Cinematical, the studio will be reprising the crew of the infamous stunt series Jackass for another feature film. If that doesn’t rattle your cage, how about the speculation that the entire movie might be available in 3-D?
Gasp! Cher has finally been cast in a role older than her actual age… well does anyone know her REAL age anymore?
The singer is slated to co-star as along with Jackass‘s Johnny Knoxville in writer/director Ricky Blitt‘s new comedy Drop-Out due out later this year.
“It’s like something that you wait for your whole life - and it just happened to come now when I’m the perfect age for it,” Cher said when she let the news slip on a November 2008 episode of “Ellen.”
Cher will play a 65-year-old widow (ahem, cougar) living next to a 35-year-old college student (Knoxville) who, for reasons yet to be revealed by film previews, is kicked out of his parents’ house. Miserable without the pampering of his parents, Knoxville’s character decides to befriend (and that may not be all he does) the lonely (and hot) woman next door so he can continue his lifestyle in couch-potato-heaven.
