D.J. Caruso is best known for directing his successful back to back thrillers Disturbia and Eagle Eye. Both films debuted at number one, and were headlined by current golden boy, Shia LaBeouf. According to Variety, Caruso will add his twisted touch to a well known children’s classic that’s being adapted for an older audience. The director has been tapped to helm Jack the Giant Killer.   • Waltz With Bashir was named Best Picture of 2008 by the National Society of Film Critics, beating out Happy-Go-Lucky, and Wall-E. Waltz is an animated feature based on writer Ari Folman’s experience as a soldier during the 1982 invasion of Lebanon.  [Variety]

According to LatinoReview, Jack Black is set to star in Gulliver’s Travels. The film will be another adaptation of Jonathan Swift’s classic novel of the same name. Screenwriter Nicholas Stoller is working on the script, and recently spoke about what locations will be used in the film.

….he starts in present day New York. And he kind of falls into Lilliput which is more fantasy then..I think the originals, the original novel took place in kind of 18th century England.
