Both adapted and directed by filmmakers Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, It’s Kind Of A Funny Story stars Keir Gilchrist, Zach Galifianakis, Emma Roberts, and Viola Davis and opens nationwide this weekend.

The coming of age dramedy, It’s Kind of a Funny story will start production early next month in New York City, and in preparation they’ve finally cast the role of its main character. The film centers on a 16 year old boy who suffers from a nervous breakdown, and eventually checks himself into a mental facility. That role has been cast along with several other supporting parts, which will include the addition of actors Keir Gilchrist, Zoe Kravitz, and Lauren Graham.
Oscar nominee Viola Davis has plenty of films on the horizon including a comedy co-starring Zach Galifianakis. According to Variety, the actress has just signed on for a role in the film, It’s Kind of a Funny Story and the recently announced David Schwimmer drama, Trust.
Funny man Zach Galifianakis has signed on to star in another project according to Yahoo. The Hangover actor is set to join Emma Roberts in the coming of age comedy-drama, It’s Kind of a Funny Story. The film will be brought to us by the same team who were behind the 2006 critical hit, Half Nelson.
The writer-director team from the acclaimed 2006 film Half Nelson have just been hired by Universal for a new gig. According to Yahoo News, the pair have been asked to work their magic on a new project for the studio entitled, It’s Kind of a Funny Story. Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden will direct the project from a script they wrote together.
