The cast for David Gordon Green’s (Pineapple Express, Your Highness) unnecessary remake of the classic ‘70s horror film Suspiria has just been announced, and it’s a pretty intriguing criss-crossing of varied talent. The cast will be lead by 15-year-old The Hunger Games actress Isabelle Fuhrman; in the original film, her character was in her 20s. The rest of the cast is filled out with stellar actors from such films as The Piano Teacher, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Man of Steel.

The Hunger Games involves 24 teenagers going in to a forest to try to kill each other for a murderous game show in the future. Not everyone is going to survive – and a lot of attention is focused on Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen – but Rue (Amandla Stenberg) Cato (Alexander Ludwig) and Clove (Isabelle Fuhrman) also put up a fight to be the final contestant. What is it about children that scares us so much? From the little girls playing jump rope singing “one two, Freddy’s coming for you,” to adorable killer vampire children in Let the Right One In horror films love scary, possessed, killers children. Think about it. Horror films have one of two things: Boobs or scary children. If there isn’t some stupid blond running around half naked covered in blond there is a child trying to kill you in some way. You have Danny from The Shining yelling “REDRUM,” the attack of the killer blond children in The Village of the Damned and the freaky devil child from Unborn; scary movies love having freaky children.
Orphan is about a husband (Peter Sarsgaar) and wife (Vera Farmiga) who recently lost their baby adopt a 9-year-old girl (Isabelle Fuhrman) named Esther. Not long after they bring her home, odd things begin to happens and they think that there’s something wrong with Esther and pretty soon things begin to spiral out of control and be learn Esther may not be as innocent as she seems.
