We (literally) just found out that Andy Serkis has signed on to reprise the role of Gollum in The Lord of the Rings prequel The Hobbit, and now we’ve learned that Ian McKellen will return too! We knew it was just a matter of time before he would officially come on board. This is turning into a real Lord of the Rings reunion!
The first trailer for the 20th Century Fox adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader has been released. After the lackluster debut of Prince Caspian a few years ago, and Disney’s decision to drop the property, we weren’t sure if this installment would ever see the big screen. This time the actor spoke out at the San Sebastian Film Festival and gave more juice on the Guillermo del Toro project as well as the developing X-Men spin-off, Magneto.
Sir Ian McKellen is probably one of the few people who’ll make the transition from The Lord of the Rings to The Hobbit. The award winning actor made a recent appearance at London’s BFI IMAX cinema event where they held a Lord of the Rings marathon.
