The gang’s all back together with some fresh blood for the fourth installment of the Scream franchise. So vets David Arquette, Courtney Cox, and Neve Campbell have Anthony Anderson, Alison Brie, Adam Brody, Rory Culkin, Marielle Jaffe, Erik Knudson, Hayden Panettiere, Emma Roberts, Marley Shelton and Nico Tortorella in the mix in the slasher/whodunnit franchise that helped bring horror back to the big screen. In the intervening years, there’s been entire ways of horror films, so the movie has to comment on that as well. Did they succeed? Find out more below…

It’s a old school/new school horror sequel versus a family friendly 3-D kids film in the race to get the top slot this weekend. Will Wes Craven‘s late-in-the-game sequel be able to relive its franchise’s former box office glory, or will it get trumped by the latest of a long line of animated kids films? Check out what we think below…

With every slasher, there’s got to be fresh meat, and for Scream 4, there’s a ton of new kids to run around and get scared of the Ghostface killer. Four of the possible victims and/or murderers (because it could be anyone) talked about their roles in the Scream Franchise, and the franchise itself. For Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin and Anthony Anderson, all grew up with the original films and the original cast.

After months of hype and plenty of negative press the Lifetime Network finally aired their “based on a true story” film, Amanda Knox: Murder On Trial In Italy. The movie stars Hayden Panettiere as Knox, a college student who’s put on trail for the murder of Meredith Kercher, while studying abroad. The story took the country by storm and many people wanted to know what happened behind closed doors. What would make this young woman result to murder? Was she truly guilty? Here’s what some of critics had to say about the film and its portrayal of the events…

Two new bits of information have slipped out from the sets of Scream 4, the upcoming sequel/ reboot to the popular (and increasingly disappointing) slasher film sendup trilogy of the 1990s: one being details about star Hayden Panettiere’s role, and the other being a compelling snapshot from the film.

This is the kind of film that makes me appreciate Shrek. Shrek came in and said, “look everyone, we can entertain both adults and kids at the same time.” The first film must have had a sprinkle of magic on it, because even THEY couldn’t recreate the perfect adult-kid-comedic-chemistry that the first film had. Of course this is an old quality for animations (go re-watch Disney’s Peter Pan, there is plenty in there for adults to enjoy), but Shrek really brought it to the forefront of our current movie-going population.
Since then, everyone has tried to duplicate the Shrek-phenomenon – people liked it and the film made a lot of money. Some, like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs have been more successful than others, like what Alpha and Omega in doing so. I know this is supposed to be a kids film, but maybe they should have just left out the adults because just about every single “adult” joke in this trailer falls flat. The “I have to pee” and butt humor only works so much, they even say so.
That being said, maybe the film has promise? Watch the trailer and let us know what you think…

Noooo!!! The two things we hate the most, Twilight and “Heroes” will taint our favorite horror franchise! According to THR, Ashley Greene and Hayden Panettiere have landed roles in Wes Craven’s Scream 4. Months ago it was reported that the film would kick-start a second trilogy with the aid of the original stars and a new group of young characters. Is Greene our new Sidney Prescott?

Whatever you think of the TV show Heroes (it’s ok, you can admit that you watch it, even if it is pretty awful) you’ve got to admit that one of its stars, Hayden Panettiere, has got some moves when it comes to real-life heroics.
The 20-year-old actress and Save the Whales Again! Spokesperson (who, as captured in the Academy Award-winning documentary The Cove, surfed with several other protesters into the waters of Taiji, Japan in attempt to prevent the massacre of a group of dolphins before she and others were attacked by fishermen) returned to Taiji today to speak about the rampant killing of dolphins with the “mayor, city councilmen and Fisheries Union representatives,” according to E! Online.

Director Chris Columbus, best known for directing the first two Harry Potter films and for writing such classics as Gremlins and Goonies, is trying his luck with high school comedy in I Love You, Beth Cooper starring Hayden Penettiere and Paul Rust. The film is about Buffalo Grove High School valedictorian Denis Cooverman’s (Rust), who has played it safe and made it all the way to graduation without ever breaking curfew, destroying property, consuming too much alcohol, fist fights, fast cars or women of any sort. He has decided to tell the most popular girl in school, Beth Cooper (Panetierre) that he loves her.
Going from big budgets films such as Happy Potter to I Love You, Beth Cooper is quite a change as Columbus notes himself: Continue Reading
