That slow sense of creeping dread is coming from Dan Aykroyd, who recently talked with Empire Magazine about the state of Ghostbusters 3. But only once the script is right, though.

We don’t need the work, if the public only had two Ghostbusters we’d all be fine.

MakingOf.com has just sent over a really interesting interview with writer/director Harold Ramis who talks about how the upcoming Ghostbusters film came back into the picture and how he plans to get the film onto the big screen. It’s refreshing to hear how aware he is of the dangers of doing another film, and the fact that they don’t NEED another film, they’re only making it because fans seem to want it and the cast and crew thinks it would be fun. They also won’t be trying to make the film bigger and better, the best part about Ghostbusters is that it’s not about special effects, it’s about the characters and the story.

Check out what he has to say about Ghostbusters 3 below…

In order to combat the box office champ The Hangover and the romantic charm of The Proposal, Ramis and company are busting out the big guns. Led by the outlandish Jack Black and typically subdued Michael Cera, Year One attempts to take you back to where it all began one slapstick joke at a time.

Harold Ramis‘ new comedy Year One, starring Jack Black and Michael Cera, hits theaters Friday and so far, the film looks hilarious. However, Ramis is better-known for his acting role in the legendary comedy Ghostbusters, which he also co-wrote with Dan Aykroyd. Collider sat down with Ramis to talk about a possible Ghostbusters 3 and here is what he had to say about it:

“If we get a good script we’ll do it. I don’t think any of us feel we need to for our own careers or anything, but if people wants to see it we’ll try to give it to them. But only if it’s good.”

year Year One Loses R Rating, Gains PG 13

The MPAA board has really been sticking it to filmmakers when it comes to content. It’s been well publicized that McG, director of Terminator Salvation has been rallying to keep a lot of his film’s footage uncut, at the dismay of 20th Century Fox. They want a PG-13 rated film, and he wants an R.

While the jury is still out on that one, the upcoming Harold Ramis comedy Year One has been having it’s own rating woes. Last week the film was branded with an R, which led to an appeal by Ramis and producer Judd Apatow. They did eventually get the PG-13 rating they wanted, but it wasn’t for free.
