All that, plus a cadre of Basic Cable Dramas.  This seems like the type of DVD week ripe for a number of polls.

How to Train Your Dragon Movie Releases: How to Train Your Dragon, Chloe, Greenberg

There is a large variety to choose from this weekend. The film that has been getting a lot of buzz, not to mention some good reviews has been Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders’ fun family animation film, How to Train Your Dragon with voices by Jay Baruchel and America Ferrera. The film is about a young Viking who wants to hunt dragons but instead ends up the owner of a one. While trying to ”train” his dragon, he learns there may be more to the creatures than he assumed.

One film that definitely stood out this week is Chloe. Directed by Atom Egoyan, this drama is about a woman who hires an escort to seduce her husband, whom she suspects of cheating.  The film is filled with twists and turns and is not a typical film you see every week — plus you get to see Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried in a steamy sex scene together.

Ben Stiller takes a more dramatic turn this week in the dark comedy Greenberg, from the master of misanthropy, Noah Baumbach. Of course, comedy is only a loose term here as there really isn’t anything funny about this film, nor is there anything that one might consider entertaining, or enlightening, or, well, watchable.

Hello readers! We are back with another fun giveaway. If you are a fan of LCD Soundsystem, you may want to check this out. We are giving away an iPod Shuffle and the soundtrack for Noah Baumbach’s new movie, Greenberg. The soundtrack was done by LCD Soundsystem‘s James Murphy with 11 Murphy solo pieces and 1 new LCD Soundsystem song. The soundtrack also includes songs by Nite Jewel, Albert Hammond, Galaxie 500, the Sonics, and Duran Duran.

The movie is about Greenberg (Ben Stiller) who is at a crossroads in his life. He doesn’t have a job and has no real intention of finding one. He begins house-sitting for his younger brother, and reconnecting with old friends. However, he finds himself spending time instead with his brother’s personal assistant Florence (Greta Gerwig), an aspiring singer and herself something of a lost soul. Noah Baumbach the man behind the Academy Award nominated feature The Squid and the Whale is writing and directing a new film entitled Greenberg. According to THR, funnyman Ben Stiller and indie darling Greta Gerwig have been cast to star opposite one another in the relationship dramedy. Gerwig is best known for her roles in the independent feature’s Baghead and Hannah Takes the Stairs.
