Glee Reviews, Interviews & More
As per usual, Glee's season finale closed with a competitive spirit. In "All Or Nothing," the New Directions headed to Regionals, taking along a bunch of drama. The writers tried to tie up some loose ends, but ultimately left us with more questions than answers.
Glee went full Stevie Wonder last night. Aside from covers of "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours" and "Higher Ground," "Wonder-ful" was filled with good news. Some of the glee kids got accepted into the school of their dreams, while others see their entertainment careers advancing rapidly.Plus, Kate Hudson returns as Cassandra July, to once again...
This week's episode of Glee went unplugged. "Lights Out" depicted exactly that. The episode centered on a long power outage at McKinley High. While the New Directions are forced to make music with trash cans and bottles, creator Ryan Murphy made a statement about society's obsession with technology.
As if America hasn’t suffered enough over the past very trying week, the Fox network has announced that Glee, the TV show in which a bunch of annoying high school students deal with after school special-level issues and then sing songs, has been renewed for two more seasons.
Rachel Berry has come a long way since Glee's first season. Back then, she was a show choir nerd who wore too many questionable sweaters. Though her wardrobe has changed and she's more confident, deep down, Rachel's still a gleek who worships Barbra Streisand. In "Sweet Dreams," she fulfills a life long dream when Broadway's Funny Girl holds...
Glee's never shied away from heavy subjects. In the past, it's tackled LGBT issues, eating disorders and bullying, but "Shooting Star" took it to a whole new level. Last night, McKinley High endured its worst nightmare -- a school shooting.
Last night's Glee was all about "Guilty Pleasures." The episode focused on the deep, shameful secrets that the New Directions keep bottled inside (many of which highlighted their poor taste in music). There were a lot of embarrassing performances featuring music from Barry Manilow and Wham! But there was also an impressive number by...
In last night's bizarre episode of Glee, rivals sorted out their differences in song. "Feud" highlighted famous quarrels between '90s boy bands and pop singers. Also, Santana made one last attempt to save Rachel from her bogus relationship with Brody.
Several of Glee's characters are suffering from a broken heart. According to Mr. Schue, the best remedy for that kind of pain is... cinema! In last night's episode, the New Directions were told to perform songs from their favorite movies. "Girls (and Boys) On Film" featured a bunch of nods from the past, and a jazzy Tom Cruise tribute.
Last night, Glee proved that romance is dead or at least on this show. "I Do" might've been the most sexually-charged episode of the entire series. There were all types of hookups between old and new lovers, strangers and girlfriends. At some point, we thought we were watching Gossip Girl.
There was a lot attitude on last night's Glee, and rightfully so. "Diva" was full of confrontations, elaborate costumes and sassy fingers. Kurt, who just can't escape the haters/bullies, got into a "catfight" with Rachel. And the McKinley kids battled each other in another diva-off. This time, the underdog won.
Glee tackles body image on a regular basis, but last night's "Naked" dug a little deeper. Rachel is cast in a student film which requires her to do a topless scene. She has the support of her live-in boyfriend Brody, but Kurt completely shuts down the idea. Meanwhile at McKinley, the New Direction boys are dealing with their own type of bareness.
In the real world, a Sadie Hawkins dance is a chance for teenage girls to take charge. But in Glee, it allows them to ask guys out through elaborate singing and dance numbers. Last night, the New Directions returned with a fierce face and a crazy conspiracy theory. Here's how it all went down.
The thermometer may read 0 degrees Fahrenheit in Park City, Utah, but things are about to start heating up. The countdown to the 2013 Sundance Film Festival has begun and my dance card is filling up fast. I'm packing my warmest clothes and ploughing through synopses, cast-lists, and an onslaught of press invitations currently clogging my email inbox. As with every year, there are far more...
Thanks to people like Lena Dunham, Louis C.K. and Glen Mazzara, TV rocked in 2012. Their shows kept us entertained all year round. But there were also programs that didn't deliver the goods. Some were newbies that failed to make an impression, while others were mismanaged vets. Showrunners squashed our high-hopes with unrealistic plotlines, and forced us into hate-watching....
Love Actually was the inspiration for last night's episode of Glee ("Glee Actually"). The writers took a chance, and instead of following a single narrative, played around with multiple storylines. One was even set in an alternative universe. There was also a feast of Holiday song covers, including a duet by every Gleek's favorite couple....
Much of Glee's fourth season has been a series of unfortunate events. Every couple has broken up (in one way or another), and even after McKinley, Rachel continues to struggle with her self-esteem. There's also the whole eating disorder issue, which reached new heights during last week's episode when Marley fainted onstage. In "Swan Song," the show took a turn for the...
Glee's "Thanksgiving" episode arrived a little late this year, but what the heck! Thanks to the holiday, a bevy of New Directions alumni returned to Lima, including Quinn, who we hadn't seen since last season. With Mr. Schue gone and Sectionals on the horizon, Finn invites the graduates to mentor the new members of the club.
When it was first announced that Glee's McKinley High would do a rendition of Grease, red flags were raised. Their last production was good, but only because Rachel and Kurt were still around. The current state of the glee club is vastly different. Marley has sort of become the new Rachel, but she hadn't made an impact until now. The new...
After a brief hiatus, Glee returned with a new character and some former club members. Arty's at the helm of McKinley High's production of Grease, and he begs Finn for help. Despite his hesitation, Finn agrees and manages to find his inner director. Find out who had the best audition in "The Role You Were Born To Play."
