Summer 2012 is beginning to feel like a game of “release date musical chairs.” After Paramount’s surprise move to push back action sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation from June 29th to 2013, Universal has decided to make hay while the proverbial sun shines by shuffling Seth McFarlane‘s R-rated comedy Ted as well. Ted has now been moved ahead by two weeks and has been dropped into G.I. Joe’s just-vacated June 29th slot.

Based on the recently published, national bestseller by the troublesome Dr. Gonzo (Hunter S. Thompson) Bruce Robinson presents a disappointing adaptation of The Rum Diary starring Johnny Depp, Richard Jenkins and Aaron Eckhart. I would’ve included Amber Heard in the line-up but her performance is so abominable that I’ve deemed her unworthy of sharing a sentence with the aforementioned actors.

The cast for Seth MacFarlane’s Ted just got a little bigger. The comedy’s roster features Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Adam Scott, and now according to Variety, Giovanni Ribisi has just joined the cast. The movie will mark MacFarlane’s directorial debut for the big screen. He’s best known for his work on Fox’s “Family Guy,” “The Cleveland Show,” and “American Dad.”

Middle Men forces the most conservative viewer to take a walk on the wild side. The film centers on the world of internet porn and how it came to be. Apparently two druggies (one who’s a genius), a clean cut business man, a mafia boss, and an underhanded lawyer all played a part in one of the biggest and most lucrative industries in the world. This film attempts to tell their story, and give star Luke Wilson a few legitimate dramatic scenes in the process.

Tonight at 5:30pm (PST) you’ll be able to watch the UK red carpet premiere of James Cameron‘s upcoming epic Avatar live, right here on ScreenCrave. We’ll be streaming the event for you below so that you can watch as the stars of the film Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, and many more walk the red carpet (or maybe it will be blue?) and talk about the film.
