We watch a lot of movie trailers here at ScreenCrave, and, as we inch closer to summer with its ever-increasing torrent of new films, we’re seeing more and more previews with each passing day. As we do so, we can’t help but notice some similarities, repetitions, and clichés among them. Here at Trailer Park, we’ll be offering a rundown of those clichés, where they come from, and which trailers share them. For our first installment, we’ll be breaking down one of summer’s most ever-present previews: The Bromance Movie Trailer.

There’s also a smattering of TV on DVD (not the small screen onslaught we’ve experience the last few weeks) and one of the worst DVDs we’ve ever seen (wait until you see the title).

This weekend the familiar combo of Jonah Hill and Russell Brand will return to the big screen in Nicholas Stoller’s spin-off of 2008′s, Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Get Him to the Greek focuses on the outlandish and politically incorrect rocker Aldous Snow and a young unsuspecting assistant from his record label. When you take Brand, Hill, Stoller, and throw in a real music mogul like Sean “Diddy” Combs you have the makings of a decent but not great comedy…

russell brand Interview: Russell Brand for Get Him to The Greek

Who knew that the free-spirited rocker who couldn’t find his shoe in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, would get his own spin-off? Aldous Snow is as unconventional as his portrayer Russell Brand and even though one is a comedian and the other is a musician they share a lot of the same qualities. They have the same humor, hair, wardrobe, and of course that thick British accent that could only come from Essex, England.

When the actor sat down at a recent press junket to discuss his new film he was just as bubbly and warm as you’d expect him to be. He happily talked about Get Him to the Greek and the tips Noel Gallagher gave him on how to act like a real rock star…

Nicholas Stoller Get Him to The Greek 2 6 10 kc Interview: Director Nicholas Stoller for Get Him to The Greek

Over the past few years, Nicholas Stoller has found his calling as a feature film director. What started as a career in screenwriting branched out in 2008 when he helmed Jason Segel’s love lorn comedy, Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Not only did the movie expose audiences to British comedian Russell Brand but it gave us the opportunity to check out Stoller’s directing chops.

With Get Him to the Greek, he’s both the director and the screenwriter for the Sarah Marshall spin-off. Even though the movie includes a lot of the same ingredients as its predecessor (Brand, Jonah Hill) it’s thematically different. This isn’t a romantic comedy. It’s a coming of age raunch-fest with the music industry as its backdrop…

Jonah Hill Interview: Jonah Hill for Get Him to The Greek

Jonah Hill is known for playing the foul mouthed best friend in Judd Apatow comedies like Knocked Up, Funny People, and Superbad, but in this weekend’s Get Him to the Greek he’s switching it up. He’ll leave the antics to British comedian Russell Brand, who co-headlines the spin-off to the 2008 comedy, Forgetting Sarah Marshall. In the film, Hill doesn’t play a sex crazed teen or an unemployed slacker, but a fresh faced intern who’s trying to work his way up the corporate ladder at a premiere record label.

The actor recently sat down with us to discuss his transition from teen to adult roles and his highly ambitious career goals. Hill is a prime example of why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. He has his eye on the prize and it goes beyond acting. The 26 year old wants to work behind the camera as a director, writer, producer and that’s just the tip of the iceberg…

Russell Brand Talks about Playing Sparrow

Tuesday, March 10, 2009 12:00PM - By

brandpirate08 11 05 Russell Brand Talks about Playing SparrowOne of the Forgetting Sarah Marshall punch-lines, known as Russell Brand, is maybe (not quite sure) going to be a pirate in the next Pirates of the Caribbean. Of course there will be another Pirates movie; whether you like it or not! There’s no point in fighting it.

Anyway, recently Brand has admitted to it being a possibility. He is assumed to be playing the role of Jack Sparrows’ brother. And if you squint your eyes, you can kind of see that he looks like a hairier, chubbier version of Johnny Depp. Maybe like a distant cousin. Or even adopted into the family, probably not blood related though.

His interview with Access Hollywood revealed this much:
