And so the drama continues. This week on Game of Thrones, some key players had to eat a slice of humble pie. After ceasing the Stark’s home, Theon is reprimanded like a child, Robb loses a bargaining chip and Jon Snow goes from captor to captive. If anything, “The Prince of Winterfell” showed the importance of strategy in the art of war.

Game of Thrones Season 2 Episode 7 recap Game of Thrones: Season 2 Episode 7: A Man Without Honor – TV Review

The end is near for season two of Game of Thrones. This week’s episode begged the question, who is a “Man Without Honor?” On this show, there’s more than enough devious deeds to go around. Both men and women have plenty of skeletons in their closets. Is it Jaime for his nonchalant attitude towards killing and incest? Or is it Theon for his betrayal and heartlessness?

This week on Game of Thrones, Theon betrays his former home and takes Winterfell, while Robb and Catelyn continue the good fight. Peter Dinklage Game of Thrones Game of Thrones: Season 2 Episode 3: What Is Dead May Never Die TV Review

The Game of Thrones story is really starting to gather steam, with several chess pieces moving closer and closer to a cataclysmic collision of minds and matter. The tone in Season 2 has been a little starker than in Season 1, and it manages to do that while feature fewer Starks! As always, I am low on patience and high on anticipation for Episode 4 next week.

Game Of Thrones: Season 2 Episode 2: The Night Lands – TV Review

game of thrones the night lands Game Of Thrones: Season 2 Episode 2: The Night Lands TV Review

This second season of Game of Thrones has journeyed on like a bullet train capitalizing on its maiden voyage. There are still hordes of new characters and places, but the pacing needs less introduction and backdrop. It becomes less about what is Westeros and more about what happens in Westeros – which, as it turns out, is a collection of fascinating, character-building, and often depraved stuff. When you think about it, there are a whole lot of semi-bad people in this universe, and even the good ones have their touches of moral ambiguity.

TheOatmeal To the Point: On Piracy

“To the Point” is a bi-monthly column about the world of film from our own Damon Houx.  He may say things you don’t agree with–and that’s sort of the point.

Recently The Oatmeal did a cartoon about a guy wanting to watch Game of Thrones, and finding it impossible to do so unless he pirated a copy. Alas, this was printed a mere two weeks before the DVD and Blu-ray box set hit stores, leaving the cartoonist looking, well,  like an entitled prick. It’s hard to know how long this cartoon took to draw, though that’s little excuse. Piracy is wrong, end thought, but it’s a tricky subject.
