The acclaimed ensemble of artists responsible for the utter disappointment that is Amelia proves that Oscars and STARmeters don’t guarantee interminable success in the entertainment industry. Amelia Earhart, a rare spirit who dared to dream in a man’s world is not only one of the primary female American icons, but is accountable for significantly advancing the age of aviation. Translation: excellent foundation for a triumphant biopic!

Casino Royale star Eva Green has been cast as the female lead in David Mackenzie‘s Last Word alongside Scottish-actor Ewan McGregor, according to ScreenDaily. The story of the film centers on two people who fall in love as the world around them begins to fall apart. Sounds deep as well as depressing.

A promo clip has just been released for the upcoming comedy The Men Whe Stare at Goats. The film stars George Clooney and Ewan McGregor as a former “special agent” and a down on his luck news reporter. The following video features both actors, but highlights the deadly but knowledgeable side of Clooney’s character. When stuck in the middle of nowhere he manages to be crazy, yet informative all at the same time.

Wow… The trailer for The Men Who Stare at Goats has just been released and it’s as funny as it’s name is long. It’s got George Clooney, Kevin Spacey, Ewan McGregor, and Jeff Bridges in a comedy about military men who think they have special powers. Come on people! What more do you want? Oh yeah, and the screenplay was also featured on the 2006 Black List, a list that has the BEST unproduced screenplays of the year.

Talk about a short teaser trailer. Oscar winning director Roman Polanski just released a teaser promoting his upcoming film The Ghost. It stars Ewan McGregor and one of my favorite actors, Pierce Brosnan. If you’ve never heard of the film, this trailer will confuse you and freak you out at the same time. I’ve a watched it on four different occasions and I honestly don’t know what the hell’s going on. Can you tell me?

In case anyone was wondering, I Love You Phillip Morris is about Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor being gay, gay, gay. I have no clue if the film will be half as fun as the trailer, but if it is, it could be one of the most entertaining films of the year. Although some annoying people have an issues with this film and its “graphic depiction of intimate homosexual relationships” nearly everyone at Sundance loved it and its about damn time we get some A-listers doing a gay romantic comedy.

The elusive comedy-drama I Love You Phillip Morris has gained some marketing momentum with the release of a new poster. The film is directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa and stars Jim Carrey, Ewan McGregor, and Rodrigo Santoro. Morris has been at the center of much controversy due to what some call “a graphic depiction of intimate homosexual relationships” between it’s main characters. It’s such a lame and unfair reason to shelve a film, but it looks as if it’s picked up some steam. The film is set for domestic release on February 12, 2010.
