Jordan Scott makes her feature film directorial debut with IFC’s Cracks, based on the critically acclaimed novel by Sheila Kohler. Wandering far below the commercial industry’s radar, the rather disturbing picture should raise a brow or two within the indie circuit. Starring Eva Green, Imogen Poots, and Juno Temple, the film hits select theaters Friday, March 18.

Just yesterday we learned that Jackie Earle Haley and Bella Heathcoate were in talks to join Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows adaptation, and today another actor can be added to the list. According to Deadline, French star Eva Green has been cast in the film as the female lead opposite Johnny Depp.
At this year’s Sundance Film Festival, we at ScreenCrave have been making a big deal out of Kevin Smith’s Red State for the last few days, because it’s been the hottest ticket, carried the most controversy, and frankly, been most exciting movie so far. But with the premier of David Mackenzie’s Perfect Sense, it is without a doubt that we’ve seen the best, most effective and affecting movie of the festival. The film is a romantic/sci-fi/horror film which stars Ewan McGregor and Eva Green. It is graceful, tender, heartbreaking, and terrifying. It is also a movie with a very organic flow, with plot reveals that are best left as a surprise. But it is impossible to discuss the emotional weight this film carries without getting into some of these finer points. Casino Royale star Eva Green has been cast as the female lead in David Mackenzie‘s Last Word alongside Scottish-actor Ewan McGregor, according to ScreenDaily. The story of the film centers on two people who fall in love as the world around them begins to fall apart. Sounds deep as well as depressing.
