After seven years, seven seasons and becoming one of the most influential TV shows in the past decade, “Entourage” finally enters its eighth and final season. When we last saw Vince & Co, Vince was arrested for cocaine. Meanwhile his brother Johnny Drama signed a TV deal, Turtle was on the verge of losing his tequila company, and both E’s and Ari’s relationship had ended.
For those of you going through withdrawal from the HBO series “Entourage” you’ve got to nip that in the bud because the show is slowly coming to an end. There’s one season left before we have to say goodbye to Vince, Eric, Drama, Turtle, and Ari for good. Actor Mark Wahlberg is one of the executive producers of the series and he recently gave hope to those looking for serious closure after the finale. We’re talking big screen closure, as in Entourage: The Movie.
When HBO’s “Entourage” made its debut in 2004 it became somewhat of a pop culture phenomenon. The life of Vince, E, Turtle, Drama, and Ari was one that made us laugh and overtly jealous all at the same time. But like all good things it must come to an end, and according to HBO executives who appeared on the Television Critics Association press tour, the show will be officially canceled after next season.
Sunday night, HBO kicked off its seventh season of the Mark Walhberg produced comedy, “Entourage.” The show about a group of friends and their wild Los Angeles lifestyles was infused with a visit from film director Nick Cassavetes making him the first of this season’s many cameo appearances.
A pretty solid week on DVD as many of the better February releases are rolling onto disc along with the last major Oscar holdover in The Last Station. A solid week all around on the movie front.
TV on DVD is surprisingly dry this week, with just a couple of series launching on disc. Despite this, we do get a chance to catch up on two middling HBO series. So we got that going for us, which is nice.

HBO’s “Entourage” will be on its seventh season when it returns to the cable network this year, and a lot of things have changed during its run. Over at MTV, they had an opportunity to speak to Adrian Grenier, the actor alter ego of Vinnie Chase and he explained that this season his character will finally go off the deep end.
Thanks to the success of the Sex in the City movie more HBO shows are looking to get the big screen treatment. There’s already been rumors regarding The Sopranos and Rome, but how about Entourage? Word is spreading that we might soon see Vince, Eric, Drama, Ari, and Turtle show up at our local theater.
I knew that HBO’s Entourage had to hold some truth within their outrageous portrayals of Hollywood life. On the show, talent agent Ari Gold is a character portrayed by Jeremy Piven with the arrogance, bravado, and vernacular of a street pimp mixed with a college grad. In the real world how could someone act that way, and still hold Hollywood by it’s balls? According to Gawker, there is a guy out there with such a demeanor and massive success.
