Last week we posted the first trailer for Ed Zwick’s latest dramedy, Love and Other Drugs and today another one has been released. This version goes more in depth with the story and gives us a better idea of what’s going on. We know that the “love” part has to do with Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, and here we finally get a look at the “drug” in the title. It refers to the little blue pill that changed the world forever — Viagra. It’s the other co-star in the movie and this trailer gives it a proper introduction. Take a look…

I can see Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal reuniting for another Ang Lee film, but why for Ed Zwick? How does he get such amazing actors? I found Defiance insulting. He took an interesting script and turned into such an overly cliched WWII film that it felt sarcastic. Every choice he made from the shots to the music were manipulative and worst of all he tried so hard to make you care about the story that you didn’t care at all! The story was powerful, you had the best actors, why did you have to kill it?

Well THR is rather bold. Before the Oscar noms have even been announced they interviewed the 2009 Oscar Directors. Really? THR has decided that Clint Eastwood, Ron Howard, Danny Boyle, Gus Van Sant, Darren Aronofsky and Ed Zwick are going to be our Oscar nominated Directors. Good picks yes, but hardly rock solid. Apparently they’re not buying the whole Christopher Nola, Dark Knight buzz.
All the directors all sat down together at one table to talk about their 2008 film(s). Everyone seemed more than happy to chime in about their filmaking process and the challeneges of directing except for Gus Van Sant. Apparently THR decided to cut Van Sant out of the show. I can’t imagine he didn’t say a single work. Why no Van Sant THR?
Check out the interviews with all the other Directors below…
