After last week’s misstep, to put it nicely, “The Office” showed it could rebound with the best of them, offering up a very funny episode that not only brought us Pam back to the office, but also sets up some interesting story lines for the remainder of the season.

“The Office” was going to put together a solid episode this season sooner or later, and “Pool Party” was definitely it. Maybe it was the ensemble in their bathing suits, or Robert California’s very specific, very x-rated vision for his expensive house, but plenty of positive things were happening in the episode, which resulted in an abundance of laughs.

The Hangover gang’s all back for another round of waking up and having no idea how bad things got the night before.For The Hangover Part II, the challenge – as a comedy – is to find a compelling narrative to return to a similar well. Most comic sequels end up redressing the original premise in one way or another to do it again, here the invention is the new location. Can it match up to the original?
Warner Brothers has been relatively tight-lipped about Todd Phillips’s The Hangover Part II and its plot details, but more is emerging thanks to the full trailer, which just debuted. It shows that Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis are back in a similar position of not remembering the night before and this time it’s not Justin Bartha they’ve lost, but a young boy. This week’s episode of “The Office” delivered the laughs and proved once again that this season isn’t as awful as it seemed to be at first. The return of Todd Packer amps up the comedy, and while there was probably room for more jokes, we’re not displeased with the final product. THE OFFICE SEASON 7: Having fully set-up the Michael/Holly relationship, “The Office” takes a break from the romantic angle this week and treats viewers to a gimmicky but effective episode which scores the laughs and showcases the talents of the various actors who appear on the show. We don’t know how long this series can last without Steve Carell, but we hope that from time to time, more focus is placed on these kinds of episodes.
Even though their relationship was only a typical sitcom romance, Jim and Pam used to hold “The Office” together. Their love for one another created an emotional core that drew in viewers even when the jokes weren’t as strong as we wanted. Now that they are married, they’ve been put in the background, but this week’s episode succeeds by celebrating a couple of other relationships on the show that are worth our attention. Miguel Arteta’s latest film Cedar Rapids takes bits and pieces from his previous projects and rolls them all into one. There are some elements of “The Office” with Ed Helms, a bit of The Good Girl with John C. Reilly, and some awkward and sometimes dark humor like seen in Youth in Revolt. Rapids is set in a small town at a convention and it magnifies the seedy underbelly of the insurance world.
