It’s not official, but it looks as if NBC will go with The Office for a ninth – and probably final – season. But there’s still the business of wrapping up season eight, which is best described as inconsistent. It’s always good to end on a high note. The Office did no such thing with “Free Family Portrait Studio”. There’s a few laughs and sweet moments, but still another mediocre episode from a mostly mediocre season. Even with all the negatives, the show deserves one last season to make it all okay.

A recently fired Andy and his newly acquired life crisis takes center stage at a local fundraiser on the latest episode of The Office. Even cute dogs and a dapper Robert California aren’t enough to save the “Fundraiser”, which, to be fair, is funny here and there in between the mediocrity. A far cry from the comedy brilliance the show has delivered in the past.

Andy returns to The Office this week with (newly reacquired) girlfriend Erin, only to find Nellie firmly entrenched in his office as branch manager. Comedy ensues. Well, enough comedy to power the latest episode with funny one-liners and great work from the ensemble cast. We even get a sexed-up Robert California appearance – always a plus.

With the Florida storyline wrapped up,”The Office” now has the whole ensemble back in Scranton, where Nellie shows up angling for Andy’s job. He’s down in Florida trying to close out the weekly ‘Andy Loves Erin’ segment of the show. Catherine Tate and James Spader deliver the comedy hits in the Rain Wilson-directed “Get the Girl” episode, which is uneven, but shines in enough spots to make it enjoyable.

“The Office” wraps up its sojourn to Florida with plenty of laughs and yet another Dwight-Jim confrontation. Robert California returns briefly, and the Erin-Andy story looks like it’s about ready for a finale. An uneven episode is once again saved by the hijinks in Florida. Maybe they should just leave that group down there!

The big screen adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ environmentally-cautious tale “The Lorax” expands far beyond 45-pages. Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, directed by Universal‘s Despicable Me duo Chris Renaud and Kyle Balda, features several new characters and about as many musical numbers. The singing fish and cotton candy looking trees are bound to make this animated feature a new favorite among kids.

“The Office” continues to get the comedy boost it needs from the Florida storyline. And this week it’s time to open the brand new Sabre store, with Dwight piloting the action. While the gang in Scranton is stuck with a so-so story, the ensemble in Tallahassee gives “Test the Store” plenty of funny moments to carry the episode.

Ed Helms never imagined that one day he would be inside a booth, voicing a character from one of his favorite childhood books, “The Lorax” by Dr. Seuss. In a recent interview with the actor, he told us that he would have been satisfied just playing one of those cute, bear-like barbaloots, and that he was completely ‘blown away’ when he was offered the part of the Once-ler in Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. He also talked about some of his voicing techniques, and gave us his opinion on the movie’s environmental message. Check out what he had to say below…
