dwayne-johnson
At this point it's no argument; Dwayne Johnson is our go-to action actor for this decade. He's starred in a number of random action films, been a part of the reboot/sequel for the G.I. Joe franchise and is set to star in a number of other big name franchises within the next couple of years. Will Terminator 5 be one of them? That's what the rumor mill is currently hinting...

The Top Ten Best Movie Bromances

bromance-header
Friendship is a powerful thing and can withstand through almost anything, and bromances are no exception. For those of you who may not know what it means, bromances is basically a male-male friendship that's platonic but both parties convey how much they care for each other at times through more macho, masculine means. Many people would consider the friendship between Dominic (Vin Diesel) and...

Fast & Furious 6: Movie Review

fast-and-furious-6-6
When the cheesy action-filled Fast Five came out in theaters a couple of years ago, it completely changed the overall tone of the famous car-fueled franchise The Fast & the Furious. There was a slim chance that the sequel to the 5th movie would match the over-the-top action and tone that made us fall back in love with the franchise. Then Fast & Furious...

Fast And Furious 6
Thanks to surprising success of Fast Five in 2011, it will likely be a long time before Hollywood stops churning out films in the Fast and Furious franchise, in which two big bald guys (Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson) play games of cat and mouse while driving shiny cars really fast so man-children in the audience can feel cool when driving...

Box Office Predictions: 'Pain and Gain' Pumps Itself to the Top Spot

Pain and Gain
It's the end of April, which means that the summer season starts next week with Iron Man 3 (which is really good). Until then, we get a Michael Bay movie starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson, which would normally be a big summer event, but since this is Bay's small art film, it's being released with the hope of having little competition and a quick payday.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation: Movie Review

Published by

ge-joe-2-review
Welcome to the gunshow. G.I. Joe Retaliation is where firepower, meets muscle and tanning oil. The sequel to 2009's Rise of Cobra is a livelier adaptation of the Hasbro property. That's not saying much considering the original film left much room for improvement. But director Jon M. Chu tries to right some of the wrongs plagued by its...

After years of making big, dumb, and almost sociopathically stupid CGI-heavy films like The Transformers franchise and The Island, Michael Bay is finally going back to the genre that he began in—big, dumb, and almost sociopathically stupid comedic action films that are well aware how utterly ridiculous they are (see also: Bad Boys, The...

Dwayne Johnson was born to play Roadblock. The actor's connection to G.I. Joe goes back to his childhood. Believe it or not, Johnson was an action figure nerd, who loved everything about the franchise. Therefore, when he got the call for Retaliation, he jumped at the chance. ScreenCrave recently spoke to Johnson about G.I. Joe's wrestling connection, and how he went...

Fast Five – Dwayne Johnson
When The Fast and the Furious was released in 2001, it was a harmless (and brainless) rip-off of Point Break featuring cars being driven really fast.  Somehow, that film’s success has been parlayed into several sequels, with Fast & Furious 6 being released on May 24th this year.  That six movies, gang, about muscle-y mid-level actors driving cars a lot...
