After heavy media attention and a whirlwind production, David Fincher’s latest film The Social Network is hitting theaters. The film is based on the book “The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal” that follows company founder Mark Zuckerberg from his humble beginnings as an anti-social Harvard student to becoming the youngest billionaire in the country. With that being said, you don’t get that much success, that quickly, without stepping on a few toes along the way.

On Friday, October 1st, The Social Network, David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin’s take on the invention of Facebook, will be released to audiences across the country. Take a look at that title. There’s a reason why this film isn’t called Facebook, and it’s not simply to avoid lawsuits from the site’s creator, Mark Zuckerberg.
Then again, why not go with The Accidental Billionaires, the title of the non-fiction book from which the screenplay was adapted? No, if we know David Fincher, he’s getting at something here. Some says he’s the best director of his generation, others write him off as someone who replaces substance with style, but there’s no denying that his best films are dulled by a strong vision. He’s not content to just tell the story that is on the surface; he needs to dig down and see how he can find out how he can relate his material to our society today.
Let’s take a look at some of his more noteworthy accomplishments and try to see what he’s had to say.

David Fincher recently spoke to the folks over at /Film about his upcoming feature, The Social Network. The movie is a loose (key word loose) biopic that centers on the creation of Facebook and uses material from the book, The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal. During and after the film’s production, it seemed that Mark Zuckerberg was fighting it tooth and nail but despite his reservations, Fincher didn’t change anything in the movie at the CEO’s request.

Apparently, he can juggle more than his fair share of projects at the same time including the animated feature The Goon. The first teaser trailer for David Fincher’s The Social Network was all audio and had no real footage. The second teaser has been released and it’s — all audio and no footage. Damn! You thought we were going to get something different didn’t you? The trailer still uses the text over dialogue set up but this time it feels like we’re reading a bunch of instant messages between all the people who made Facebook possible. And oddly, one of them just happens to be Justin Timberlake, which we still can’t wrap our heads around. Check out the video…

After the debut of the teaser trailer for David Fincher’s The Social Network, the general population has been wanting more. The video didn’t feature any live-action footage but instead opted for various lines of dialogue from the characters. Even though we’re still in the dark regarding the actual look of the film, some light has been shed on its soundtrack. According to the official website of the rock band Nine Inch Nails, frontman Trent Reznor will score the music for the movie.
