Jackie Earle Haley is being creepy again. The Oscar nominated actor and former Freddy Krueger will remain on the dark side for the foreseeable future. Earlier this year while out promoting Alice in Wonderland Johnny Depp spoke about his next Tim Burton film Dark Shadows and how he hoped it would begin shooting this year. Well, we’ve got some good news and some bad news about his aspirations. The bad news is it won’t start production in 2010, but the good news is that it will in 2011, EARLY 2011. Not only that but the film has also landed a screenwriter who’s going to hammer out a dramatic and horror-filled script.

Over at SciFi Wire they spoke to producer Graham King who pretty much confirmed the film’s production start date and Johnny Depp‘s casting. All the press were quite eager to speak to Director Tim Burton at Comic-Con, especially after just seeing (three times in a row) the amazing and trippy sneak peak of Alice in Wonderland. I will have the entire interview soon, but I thought you might be interested in this little tidbit about what he’ll be up to when he’s done with Alice. It might be going a little far to say that he confirmed Dark Shadows will actually be happening, it was more like he agreed to wanting to do it and that others are one board, but he has to finish Alice before he can think of anything else.

Collider talked to producers Richard D. Zanuck and David Heyman about Tim Burton’s upcoming project. He even managed to get Zanuck on camera (video below) revealing some pretty awesome information about Burton’s next project. According to Zanuck, Burton has finally decided to tackle Dark Shadows. They are set to start shooting in London next summer after Alice in Wonderland is done. And Burton won’t be moving on to his next project alone. He’ll be taking good friend Johnny Depp with him (how many films can that guy do at once? Yesterday he just got news about him taking on Dante).
