I begin this review with a sigh… Ridley Scott’s latest action-adventure ride Robin Hood starring Russel Crowe and Cate Blanchett has a number of amazing aspects to it, but as a whole it’s just not enjoyable. These are the reviews I hate because I can see the craftsmanship that went into the film and I want to love it, but I don’t. Technically all the pieces are there, it was well made, well put together, but with a run-time of 140 minutes and too many details, it felt like sitting through a partially real history lesson with some amazing action sequences.

Next month at the TCM Classic Film Festival, Oscar winner Anjelica Huston and her brother and fellow actor Danny Huston will be honored as part of The Huston Dynasty. According to the Associated Press, the duo will be on hand to present a special tribute to their family which will be entitled, “Hollywood Dynasty: The Hustons.”
Two trailers have been released for the upcoming HBO feature film, You Don’t Know Jack. It’s based on the real life events circling the controversial “Dr. Death,” Jack Kevorkian. Al Pacino stars as the troubled physician and leads an all star cast in the Barry Levinson directed film. A trailer has finally been released for Martin Campbell‘s latest film, Edge of Darkness. The film stars Mel Gibson as a former Boston detective whose daughter is murdered, causing him to take matters into his own hands by searching for her killer. The screenplay was written by Oscar winning scribe William Monahan (The Departed), and looks like a worthy follow up to his previous work.

For the past few months, Ridley Scott has been directing an untitled Robin Hood film with Russell Crowe. We’ve seen various set photos of Crowe as Robin Hood, as well as Scott Grimes, and Kevin Durand as a couple of his Merry Men. According to THR more casting has taken place for one of the story’s most pivotal roles, King Richard. X-Men Origins: Wolverine star Danny Huston (William Stryker) has just signed on to play the part in the film.
Why is Louis Letterier enticing me with his Clash of the Titans remake? When I first heard they were making the film I was completely against it. Then they went and cast Sam Worthington, Ralph Fiennes, and Liam Neeson. I love Liam Neeson! Now, I just read over on Joblo that another actor has joined the cast and it’s none other than William Stryker, Danny Huston. I feel like Michael Corleone in The Godfather: Part III. “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!“
New X-Men Origins:Wolverine photos are here, courtesy of Marvel.com. Over at the site they recently posted three more promo pics for the upcoming summer film, which include another image of Taylor Kitsch as Gambit. The other two photos are of Agent Zero (Daniel Henney), and William Stryker (Danny Huston). Even though I’m happy to see these guys get some well deserved exposure, I still have to beg the question. Where is Dominic Monaghan as Beak? What does this guy look like in the movie? Will we ever know? I’m still waiting Marvel, but until then I’ll have to quench my curiosity with these.
