The 2010 fall season is starting to look pretty amazing. We have two new casting scoops that include actors known for playing iconic characters, Katee Sackhoff and Robert Englund! Yes, Starbuck and Freddy Krueger will be on your screens this season. One will join the cast of the CBS hit “CSI“, while the other will make an appearance on NBC’s cult action series “Chuck.”
Last week we learned that “CSI” star Marg Helgenberger signed a new contract with the CBS drama to stay on board beyond its 11th season and today we got word of another alum’s return. According to EW, sources close to the series and the network claim that Jorga Fox has inked a new contract and is keeping her alter ego Sara on the show.
Yesterday we learned that Melina Kanakaredes plans on exiting her role as Detective Stella Bonasera on the hit CBS drama “CSI: NY” and today the network has officially announced her replacement. There were rumors that Emmy winner Sela Ward would take over where Kanakaredes left off with the new season and today it’s been confirmed!
It’s a wrap for “CSI: NY” regular Melina Kanakaredes. The actress who’s been with the series since its first season in 2004 is calling it quits. According to a report from THR, she’s decided to leave the show after a successful six year run. Kanakaredes appeared as the female lead on the show Detective Stella Bonasera opposite Gary Sinise’s Detective Mac Taylor.
For those of you who have been with the CBS procedural drama “CSI” since season one, you’d find it hard to watch without Catherine Willows. It’s bad enough William Petersen and Gary Dourdan are no longer regulars, we couldn’t take it if Marg Helgenberger jumped ship too! According to EW, she’s sticking around to find more clues and solve more murders thanks to the re-up of her contract.
If you’re an avid fan of the procedural drama “CSI: Miami” this news is for you. Back in February it was announced that Adam Rodriguez would return to the show as a series regular starting next season. This had a lot of people wondering how he and co-star Eddie Cibrian would coexist since Cibrian’s Jesse Cardoza is pretty much a filler for Rodriguez’s Eric Delko. According to EW, you don’t have to speculate anymore because Cibrian has been cut from the show.

Unfortunately, according to Gizmodo some of their most popular programs will be going, going, gone! What’s up with that?!
Following in the footsteps of The X-Files and hopefully Arrested Development’s film adaptations comes the mega hit CSI. The CBS television show that gave birth to the genre of “procedural dramas” may be heading to the big screen. William Petersen who starred in the series for 8 seasons says “Yes, there will be a movie.” According to YahooTV, he states that a feature length film is in the works and of course his character Gil Grissom will be there for it’s debut!
