Well, we're glad it's here. It's a very strong week for catalog titles as well, so check out what's hitting this week.

TOPS List image
This has been a huge pivot point for movies in how they're made and distributed. 2012 was the year where the film industry turned its back on 35 millimeter film (which has been the standard for well over a century), with digital projection no longer just an option but the standard. At the same time a filmmaker like Paul Thomas Anderson shot a movie on 70mm - a format that hadn't been used...

Cloud Atlas: Movie Review

CLOUD ATLAS
Cloud Atlas was considered an unfilmable book, but that didn't stop directors Tom Tykwer and Andy and Lana Wachowski from turning into a movie. It's a narrative that takes place over six time frames, from the distant past to way in the future where lives and people keep intersecting over the course of human history. It's a bold narrative, one that's going to send some...

Hugo Weaving and Susan Sarandon were the veterans of Wachowski productions, which meant they had a leg up on their costars in Cloud Atlas. They at least had first hand experience of trusting their directors. We got a chance to speak to the two about their multiple roles in the film, and it was great. Check it out...

And when joining our room, he and co-star (and fellow Oscar winner) Halle Berry started doodling. By the end of the interviews, it turned out all...

The last we heard from the Wachowski's, they delivered Speed Racer, which is a fascinating film that's easily about twenty minutes too long, but kind of great. It bombed, and rumors swirled about the filmmakers. It's hard not to describe the trailer for Cloud Atlas - their latest movie directed along with Tom Tykwer - as out and proud. This...
