It’s safe to say that the most interesting thing about Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant is the idea behind it. A new kind of vampire film that will (should) have you laughing with John C. Reilly as the lead vampire. With all the targets in place, it manages to run the other way, leaving us with a cool looking film, with a lot going on, but nothing that interesting to be entertained by.

I know, I know… Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant… another vampire flick. Only instead of Robert Pattinson looking longingly into your eyes, you get John C. Reilly whispering subtle jokes in your ear and possibly taking a dabble of blood is bored. He may seem like an odd lead for a vampire movie, but as he says in the interview below he’s been trying for ages to become the “next teen sensation” so this might finally be the film to push him over the edge! Chances are the wide-eyed, good-guy vampire Chris Massoglia might be taking that spot instead of him, but I’m still rooting for Reilly. That is if anyone can keep their eyes off Salma Hayek who even with a beard is probably once of the hottest women on earth.
