The Christian Post talked to Michael Flaherty, co-founder and president of Walden Media, and he tipped his hand that The Magician’s Nephew will be the fourth Narnia film (even though it’s the sixth book in the series), if there is to be a fourth Narnia film at all. Flaherty makes no guarantees, as he has to talk to both 20th Century Fox and the C.S. Lewis Estate before going forward – and that’s all before the script has been written. This could be a talk, but let’s look at the numbers…

This week in theaters the third film in the series the Narnia series, Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader hits theaters in 3D just to give the experience a little bit more of a kick. The film was beautifully shot and once again takes us into a word where our wildest imaginations come true. Sadly, it’s still lacking a bit of much needed magic. Find out more below…

For a little while there, it looked like the third film from The Chronicles of Narnia series, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, would be docked for good. But with a 20th Century Fox takeover (who needs Disney anyway?) and the hiring of screenwriter Michael Petroni to pen the screenplay, it looks like the movie will set sail after all.
Petroni replaced Richard LaGravanases to script the adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ novel, which tells the story of the two younger Pevensie children, Edmund (Skandar Keynes) and Lucy (Georgie Henley) returning to Narnia, along with their stuck-up cousin Eustace (Will Poulter). Once there, the children must find Prince Caspian and join him on a sea journey aboard the Dawn Treader.

As we previously reported, Disney decided against continuing their financial relationship with the Chronicles of Narnia franchise. The last installment in the series, Prince Caspian, didn’t live up to the box office hype of it’s predecessor, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Due to budget cuts and our current economic state, Disney couldn’t take the risk of losing more money. Yet, according to Variety there is hope for the future of the franchise thanks to 20th Century Fox.
