With so much import put on sex and women in Choke, there are surprisingly few female cast members to interview. Well we’ve heard from the director/writer/actor Clark Gregg, we’ve heard from the novelist Chuck Palahniuk, and from the star of the film Sam Rockwell and his co-star Brad William Henke, now it’s time for to let the lady of the hour take the throne.
Anjelica Huston, has been acting since the 70′s and she’s still breaking new ground with every film she makes. She’s known for giving some of our favorite villains hearts and in Choke she is no different. At moments you hate her, but god do you always sympathize with her. All of her characters are as young and vibrant as ever, and after meeting her it’s no surprise. The woman seems ageless, she’s as knowledgeable as a grandma, but as young and open as a child, and looks easily 10 years her junior. I had the honor to sit down and talk with Huston about her long career as an actor, her first impressions of Choke, and even a bit of Wes Anderson insight. So without further ado, Anjelica Huston…

A lot of film’s to choose from. Don’t everyone run out to Nights in Rodanthe at once! And I know you’re all going to see Eagle Eye no matter what I say, so on with your bad selves. Personally, I think the two best films to choose from are Choke or The Lucky Ones. At least you’re assured good acting in both and with Choke you’re guaranteed a good story as well (Choke interviews here: Chuck Palahniuk, Clark Gregg, Sam Rockwell, and Brad William Henke). Smother with Diane Keaton and Liv Tyler looks like it might be a bit of fun. As for the rest of them, nothing really gets me too excited, what about you?
Here are this weeks movie releases with cast and crew information, reviews, ticket info, and trailers. Enjoy! Continue Reading

Choke is a great film to take a date to if you want how comfortable they are with sex. Depending on their reaction you may or may not want to leave the anal beads out of the action.
What can I say, this film is a fun, dirty romp with a bunch of crazy people that has you smiling (and wincing) all the way. It stays true to the book, while simultaneously standing on it’s own. If you haven’t read Chuck Palahniuk‘s book “Choke,” it won’t make a lick of difference and if you have read the book, he’s added plenty of little details for you to spot. If you haven’t read “Choke” at some point, before or after the film, you really should take the time. There are only so many things Director Clark Gregg could put up on the screen and not have it slip into NC-17 territory, which it gets pretty close to at times.
This was the first time Clark Gregg has directed a film and it’s a well thought out, cohesive, amazing film. He also wrote the film and was able to turn Chuck’s book into a successful script. Chuck Palahniuk even said in a recent BeatCrave interview that “this one was even more verbatim [than Fight Club].” In fact Chuck even went so far to say that he liked the additions that Clark made to the script, “There’s a sort of a third dynamic there that I didn’t do in the book, which is developing a relationship between Ida and Paige Marshall, which I thought Clark had done really, really well in the movie.” (For the full interview with Clark Gregg and Chuck Palahniuk click here).

On September 26th, audiences will be shocked, entertained, grossed out, and possibly even turned on (you sicko) with the release of the new film CHOKE, from the twisted minds of first time Director and Writer, Clark Gregg and Novelist, Chuck Palahniuk. ScreenCrave was lucky enough to sit down with Clark and Chuck and have a little heart to hard with them about adapting this sexually explicit novel about a sex addict, choker, with a delusional mother to the screen. (Check out Sam Rockwell and Brad William Henke’s interview here.)
The topics may have been dirty, you couldn’t have asked for two more pleasant, well spoken men to discuss the film with. Although the two men appeared to have just met one another for the first time, they seemed to have an extremely similar view on the film, the characters, and the overall tone of CHOKE. Chuck even went so far as to say that this was a closer film adaptation than Fight Club and one he enjoyed.
The first thing out of Clark’s mouth as he sat down to the table was “Good morning. Let’s talk about dirty stuff!” So lets!

As many of you know, another one of Chuck Palaniuk’s books, “Choke,” has been turned into the film Choke thanks to writer/director Clark Gregg and his amazing cast. ScreenCrave had a chance to sit down to a little three-some with the star of the film Sam Rockwell and his right hand man, Brad William Henke. The two of men share amazing chemistry on screen and off. Both of them work off them worked off each other like professionals in a play pen. Rather than tell you all about them I’ll let them speak for themselves…
So what was it like stepping into the role of being a sex addict, chokers, that is possibly related to Jesus?
Sam Rockwell: Good question. You know, just got to be loose. Got to be ready to lay it on the line, I guess. That’s about it.
There are many graphic scenes in the film, were there any scenes that you refused to film or had changed a bit?
